I hit the big 500 mark sometime I guess. I noticed tonight that I made it to "Addicted" status. I guess I am just a big ole post hoe, Beale.

interesting...is there some way we can see rankings as well so we can all know how we fare? I know it's not a race but it's still interesting...

Good for you, Beale. Acknowledging the problem is the first step to overcoming it.

Seriously, you can learn a lot about a person through their posts. It's good to know you.

Yep. Just go to the Memberlist, select the popup to sort by Top Ten Posters, and then select the next popup for Descending. (Viewing it in ascending order is not very interesting, as you'll see the top ten posters who have zero posts. )

Alternately, just select Total Posts and Descending, and you'll see the complete ranking of all users.

(p.s. You're number 28, but with two more posts you can pass Nukie)

Bravo, Beale!

The ranking seems odd, because I don't feel as if I'm posting a lot. Most times, I'll read a thread and not have anything to contribute to the conversation. I feel as if it's the rare time, when I'll reply. I will stick with it though, if someone needs assistance.

Gary - You're an extremely prolific contributor, whether you realize it or not. Very helpful, too.

I'm in the same boat, I guess -- I've never had this many posts on any forum before, and never would have considered myself very far above the rank of lurker. Since I'm here every day keeping an eye on things, though, I end up posting a lot.

Same here. I just checked my post count on the first forum I joined - in '98 - and it's 988.

'Course now the competitive juices will flow, and we'll all have to watch our backs...

Jess, I'm actually surprised you passed Gary.... wasn't he the first one to hit the 500 milestone?

You got all post-y on us (note - not postal. that's different, and we'd be dead)

I think if I remember, Gary was the first non staff to pass 500. Jess' title wouldn't have changed to "addicted" since it was already "admin". I think Jess was already near or over 1000 at that time.

I'm fairly certain that I've been the number one poster for the duration of this forum. Not that I'm trying to out-post you all, it just happens.

Gary is definitely on track to pass me, though.

That would be this one, now edited several times. The forum software starts counting just about everything at 2 (my user ID is 2, the first post was topic 2, and so on).

Am I correct that one's status changes from "member" to "enthusiast" after 50 posts, to "hooked" after 100, and then to "addicted" after 500? Soon we'll need some new categories, but what trumps "addicted"?

Perhaps: "Needs a life"

(I know I'm getting there way too fast, shows you what life I have! Sorry for using up all these electrons.)

That would seem to work! Or perhaps, "Needs to work more" - which I can hear my colleagues grumbling down the hall ...

I've got the next rank all lined up and ready to go. It's a surprise, though.

So we need Gary to crank out another 64 posts to see?

Too bad we can't sort by "posts per day." That's always an interesting one. I know that when I joined Urban Scootin' (The Honda Metropolitan forum) I had about twice as many PPD as anyone else after the first couple of weeks. I was full of questions and comments. I've slowed down since then.

On the clubWRX.net forum, there are several guys with post counts in excess of 15,000, some only having been there around a year. I've been there since fall 2001 and have about 1300 posts...

You can't sort by it, but you can see what each person has by clicking on their name to get their profile.

I have 7.25 posts per day, with my posts making up 6.20% of the overall total.

I know, but you sort of have to guess, looking at total posts and registration date. I wouldn't have thought Larry had almost as many PPD as you.

And I just realized I'll be addicted in 8 posts, too!
