Now that would be enough to make me upgrade from my GT 200! I suppose the DOT in the US would never approve it with the headlight on the fender though.

Very cool. Looks like some of the first design studies. I also doubt that it will be US legal, but thats why we have scooterbobby =p

That's great-looking. Is it a 200 or 250?

I kinda agree with Matt, but it doesn't stop me from wanting it.

It reminds me of all those movies that show ultra futuristic things that also look kinda '40s throwback - I like that aesthetic. It's sweet.

But yes, a bit goofy.

Hmm…I'm not down with those looks. Although the chrome wheels are kinda nice.

The first design study I was speaking of was the first for the GT200. They originally planned to have a light on the front fender and the right side cowl would have opened. As soon as I find the book, I will post some info.

LX-SS
Now if only they will add a dummy tank, spare mount narrow the legsheild at the top and build a drop headset, to make a modern version of the 90SS.

Just noticed the LX60 has the same upper dash as the Mojito Custom, with a different face.

Glad the Vespa version doesn't have the swoopy Harley-esque bars, though. That's the one thing they lost me on with the Mojito.

Different strokes…

Agreed...

Fenderlight history or not, I think it looks like all the add on crap that you can put on a Vino from Simon 2001 in Japan. Now all we need is the wicker picnic basket and we're off!!!

The headset on the GT60 with the pseudo-millenium speedo up top and the digital dash at the bottom is overkill. Just plain odd looking... I think it would be better with just the analog.

For some reason, I find the LX60 somewhat more appealing than the GT, probably because of the mostrosity of a headlight and headset that the GT has.

I don't ever see it happening (at least here in the states). Maybe as overpriced add on crap / pieces-parts, but doubtful as a whole scooter.

Given the choice, I'd much prefer the instrument panel from the LX over the GTS. It just seems complete?integrated?

I can see where they're coming from with the GTS, retro looks but keep 21st century "all measuring all recording" facilities for the rider. Unfortunately you can't have both without compromising somewhere. How would you design an analogue trip computer and make it look like 1940's utilitarianism?

I think the dual seats are a nice touch.

The fenderlight would have looked better if it had been raised a bit like the originals though, rather than squashed into the fender.

I give them 10 out of 10 for trying but I won't be trading in my GT.

Now if they'd done that GT500 like in the hoax? Hmmmm..........

For that retro-LX, I'd take the Alabster paint and the dual seats, but I think I still prefer the enclosed headset.

They don't appeal to me. There's no continuity in their designs. Their appearance is more of a collage of unrelated shapes, styles, and vintages, than an artful creation. It's all Picasso and no Micheal Angelo.

The eye catcher to me is the seat. The leather is a very nice touch, and the split seat is an excellent move. Definitely looking to move down the market to convince the Vino crowd to upgrade.

The gang at Piaggio has been very busy lately. Nice to see. They are starting to resemble Apple in their ability to crank out new product regularly.

I think its definately intersting and i wouldnt mind trying one out. But i dont think id want one. Especially since it look like they just modified a gt and an lx. If they woulda designed a completely new body to fit these new design elements i think it woulda been better.
I like the new control panel though.

Here is a photo of one of the first GT design studies. Note the similarity of the headset (but non handlebar) and windscreen to the GT60 and the sleek fender headlight.

I am not really into the LX-60 very much. I kind of like the use of the Mojito Custom gauges, but it just seems out of place. The LX is very crisp and sharp, and that headset is...not.

The GT-60, that I can almost get on board with. The fenderlight on it is not particularly attractive, but with some refinement I think it could be. I'm not opposed to the digital dash as it is. I really, really like the leather split seat, the chromed center stand (how long will that stay nice though?), and the glossy drab paint color. I mentioned this on the BBS too, but I think a new Vespa painted in one of those post WWII military surplus colors would be awesome. No metallic, but if you need a little modern flash, a simple pearl coat over it would be sweet.

Love the Seats
I love the saddle seats. They look very comfortable and functional as well as "retro." I'll bet I can get a set to fit on my LX150.

I really don't like the bike handlebars though. Didn't like them on the Mojito Custom and I don't like them here either.

No Uuhgly Turn Signals
I just noticed that the LX60 doesn't have those
god-awful turn signals that hang off my 150.
I suppose the turn signals are wired back into the legshield lights.
If not, they are going to have to come up with some retro-looking replacements for the
Uuuhhgly plastic turn signals or else ruin the whole retro design.

At least with this one you dont have to worry about cracked plastic on the headset covers. The fenderlight sticks out like a sore thumb, would take some time to get used to it, but I salute them for thinking retro.
