Let's make a list of all the articles we wish could be written, from the vague and broad to the narrowly-defined specific.

A collection of the various p2w safety studies that have been conducted, or at least their source information. Begiining with Hurt and continuing to MAIDS. Not with the intent of pushing the issue, but making the resources (or links) available in one site for anyone who wishes to do so.

Definitely need something that keeps track of the model, year and colour choices. I'm having trouble keeping them all in my mind.

Those two off of the top of my head.

That's a good one. We should create a template for what a page dedicated to a specific year/model should look like.

I would be happy to do the digging and compile as much as I can find.

It's OK, Benny. With the time differences, Al will still be working when the Norte Americanos are asleep.

Perfect, Al. Thanks!

Al, I've dug up a few over the time I've been here. Most are pdf copies, but some (MAIDS) required joining the site. When I have a moment, I'll pm you with what I have on hand and you can add it to your collection.

This is a link to the safety forum on the (very useful) site www.beginnerbikers.org :

http://www.beginnerbikers.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=23

It includes links to YouTube videos by BB member Cap. Crash on topics like leaning, countersteering, practicing slow-speed weave, etc.
The visuals are helpful, and though made for MC riders, most of the info is transferable for scooterists.

The Wiki Mods may find other helpful links on BB.

Cheers,

I suppose we're going to need a How To Use This Wiki article.

No doubt about it! I do think the DMV+ thread will be one that makes it obvious that there are contributions to be made from diverse forum members.

I'd like to see a listing of all the US spec colors since the re-launch of Vespa in the States, cross referenced with a PPG code for that color, allowing someone to just take the PPG code and order their touch up or re-spray colors from a vendor like Tower Paint.

This is exactly the kind of stuff I'm hoping will accumulate here on the MV Wiki. Run with it! Start the beginning of the article, do as much as you can, and someone else can pick up where you left off.

Agreed, and probably one on searching too. It looks like the search function only hits forum posts though - is that right?

Yep, search is a big missing piece right now. That's one of the main reasons we're still in soft-launch mode.

An excellent suggestion. Might I suggest creating a stub article as a placeholder?

I notice most of the articles and stubs so far are specific to modern Vespas and models. How far do we want to go into more generic topics such as "how a CVT works" or "the difference between DOT, Snell and ECE certifications for helmets" and other more generic but relevant topics that do get asked or referred to often on the forums?

I think it's a case-by-case thing. Yes on CVT, although it should be specific to the leader / master / qasar style of CVT. Yes on an explanation of DOT vs Snell vs. ECE.

I'd probably shy away from anything specific to other brands, but if it were scooter-specific (and not brand-specific outside of Vespa) then I think it's fair game.

I'm all for including anything that gets brought up frequently on the forums, except pie.

For mods, do you think there are enough questions about barend mirrors to warrant an article? I know I had a lot of inquiries when I put mine on and there are multiple threads on the subject. I can write a how to install them on a GTS if you gals/guys think it's drool worthy.

There are a plethora of LV install threads. Do we need a wiki article or enough is enough? For the sake of our incentive to reduce (or hope to reduce) the redundancy of this subject, is this something useful or ...? Majority of the official LV thread is comprised of new LV owners sharing their happiness as a rainbow about their new pipe.

Another article I'm going to work on is the GTV seat slippage problem. Regardless of how many threads are out there on how to resolve this, I still see new ones asking how to fix it.

I'd like to see something about security as well. Locks etc.

I didn't want to just blast ahead and start a new topic just in case I missed it with my tired eyes.
