Finally found one, a Vintage Red GTS 250ie.
Just 1 year old with 1500 km (1000 m) on the clock.

I am rethinking a flyscreen and a topcase [/i]

Two of my very favorite colored scoots, bravisimo!!
Please don't ruin it with a topcase unless it's a natural leather one! A small vintage style flyscreen and crashbars would IMO set that colr off.
Anyway, those are awesome!!

Surfan, do you mean the flyscreen as on the white LX?
The only crashbar I am thinking of is the front fender bar, as shown on the LX too...

I hope a genuine Vespa topcase is easily detachable? I just want to use it for 'serious' holiday trips.
I agree, she is beautiful just as she is

I am very fond of the GTS dash with all its gadgets. In the contrary to many, I like it much more than the analog GTS 300 super dash
But maybe it is a nerd thing

I love the GTS's dash as well. I like the information on the digital display, so you're not the only one who likes it.

No it's a pain in the butt. However, even though I think it's ugly I now won't give it up simply due to the convenience of the added storage. Hey me arse is big and ugly too but I try not to focus on it..... I did remove and sell the front rack, it was just to much, at least she looks good from the front

Pretty much,I'll send these photos below. I think the crash bars are sharp looking and they do add some protection to the scoot. I like the Cuppini flyscreen, it is more form than function, but it does keep the wind off your chest, but it does make it hit your face more, but I always wear a FF helmet so it doesn't bother me.

The topcase and dash on the GTS, more than anything else on Vespas, you have two sides, either you love em or hate em. I have the canvas looking tan S/X topcase that I use, but I don't use it too often and it;s easy to take on and off, I just use zip ties.

How were you able to get that VR GTS? That's a hard color to find. We are looking for a Diamond White GT or will wait for the 300 to come out. But i tell you what, if a VR GTS come available that's not to far away we will grab it.
BTW,Are both those scoots yours or does the SO use the 50?

The LX50 and the GTS250 are both mine. I use the white LX for daily commuting purposes, it goes through all kind of weather conditons (also when roads are salty in winter)
The vintage red GTS will be well presereved and only taken from the stable when weather conditions are nice

If we go for a dual ride, the SO and I both are on a 50cc. This is indeed about regulations in the Netherlands (license AND speed/place-on-the-road issues)
That when we use Bello Giallo and Bella Bianca together.

PS: I found the GTS after an 'Wanted' advertisment I placed on a Dutch forum. I have been offered 3, Donna Rossa was the BEST!!!
Luckily the new GTS 300 Super is on its way, so some are trading / switching

You've got a GREAT little collection there. They are all very nice & that is a nice color on your newest one but I'm still very fond of the older one, Bella Giallo.

Very, very nice. Rosso barchetta, my other favorite color.

+1 on the NO TOPBOX.

For the screen, a flyscreen would just be perfect

Yeah Chris, my collection must have gotten out of hand somewhere. You can only ride one at the time
Sometimes I think about slendering my collection, but the less 'usefull' are the cheapest to keep and have the most character...the two oldtimers on the right

I've been struggling to find a vintage red GTS myself, likewise, yellow doesn't seem to ever appear in the UK... if needs be, I shall go to Europe and buy one, although I hope I don't need to (lots of paperwork involved)

I know most of the MV members consider the large screen and also the topcase looking hideous, but I just love this picture!

I think the large screen and topcase look great! I love your GTS. I always consider getting my motorlicense when I see your pics...

It is a combination of form and function! And especially in our rainy and cool climate, the screen is very useful.

I understand the dilemma about the license...I really love my LX50 and she is the one for me on the daily commuting job!
However, it would be much more difficult for rides like this below.

This rather 'stiff' Dutch laws made me overcome the terrible 'CBR' job and money. As reward...

Hey Sakkerju!
I just bought my wife the VR about 3 weeks ago or so. I've been adding some stuff and doing some routine maintenance and because of that and also we've been getting quite a bit of rain so she hasn't been able to ride hardly at all . I still need to add 3 more items and then I'll post some photos of it. It will look a bit different for sure than yours.
We did add a Prima tall windscreen on it. What she loves about it is it's between the mid size which is 13" above the headlight and a tall like yours, which I believe is 20" above the headlight, the Prima is 15". It has the same width as yours. It really is the perfect windscreen.
I did notice you had the small flyscreen on that bottom picture, what made you change?

Great! curious about this VR GTS...let the pics come

I have both a large AND small one. To be honest the small one looks great but very much wind and noise.
The large one looks worse IMHO...but NO wind and LITTLE sounds!!! Can even ride with no glasses/vizor
It is just so nice rinding with it...like in the joke from el Josh

I have the mod flyscreen which is the same 8" above headlight as yours. I like it. It keeps the wind off my chest. On the other hand if i didn't use a FF helmet it would really bother me , cause the wind hits me right in the eyes.
The top of the Prima comes up to almost eye level and is a bit of a distraction, but it is pretty quiet. Whats weird is the wind comes around it and if I don't have my shirt tucked in, it blows it right up the bottom of the shirt and is quite annoying

I agree, the GTS looks much nicer without a topbox, but it is SO useful So here is mine, with and without.

The secret to having a topbox that does not bounce around is to fit a GT rack. This also means a GT saddle, but I prefer the GT saddle to the GTS one. Don't like that hump in the middle where I sit.

Windsceen and Topcase
My GT has the full windscreen and a topcase for the 250, yes it takes away the clean look, but they work for me. One thing about the fullscreen, you do feel the buffet as cars pass.

I noticed that too, specially when you are behind a truck/lorry on the freeway. The turbulence is giving you a more shakey ride.
This is why I became an 'overtaker' against my own will

Agreed, that's my absolute favorite modern Vespa color. As much as I adore my ivory GTV, I think it would be even better in Vintage Red.
