Okay, I think we're to the point where we need to start entering summaries when we do an edit. I'm very guilty of laziness in this regard, as I've made tons of edits with no summary of the edit.

Just a quick one-line overview of what you changed. It doesn't have to be exhaustive, just "Fixed spelling error in opening paragraph" or "Added section about main stem stopper valves" or whatever.

We may have covered this before, but do you think having the wiki place a note in the discussion thread when an article is edited would work? It should contain the summary for the edit. I've noticed that for many articles, we're manually doing that anyway. The Modifications page, for example.

I do think so, yes. I'm tempted to put the diffs into the post as well, automatically.

This has the potential to become onerous, though: it means threads will constantly be bumped to the top, and it may end up drowning out all other human-generated conversation about the article.
