I love the picture on the streets (Jakarta?) in your other post, veloce75!
Good luck with finding the right colour for your Veloce....although I also like the blue one currently has I bet your Veloce was build in 1975? Your Sprint's colour looks a lot like my 50 Special 'Giallo'. |

Veloce with a Sito Plus exhaust
I have used my Sprint V. this whole summer 100% stock.
The Veloce just seems to be able to maintain speeds at 53mph / 85kmh (as measured with a Garmin GPS - 90 kmh on speedo) in standard (flat/no wind) conditions. Major roads in my country have a speed limit of 50 mph. Cagers however tend do drive with average speeds from around 55 mph. So I just need a little bit more beef to get the jack-asses of my tail I was thinking of placing a Sito Plus exhaust for just a little more power. It is ordered an will arive one of these weeks. I hope will not be to loud/metallica to my taste. Before fitting, I will spay it over with heat resistent laquer. I have also been thinking on getting a DR 177...but sacrificing originality and stock reliability is holding me back. In the end, I just need +5 mph... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqDaCFwob3c ⚠️ Last edited by Sakkerju on UTC; edited 1 time

price wrote: I may be a year late but I would love to get the original paint taillight for that color. But I understand you should actually keep it with the bike. My Veloce is the first release of that color from 1970 with much more patina. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/randomtone/scooter/scooterbraves.jpg?t=1265810566 However, it is fairly easy to have the paint color reproduced to re-spray any original Veloce taillight blue. I have a repro made to use for small damages/rust and also to have the sparewheel clamp blue as it would be in the '70. BTW: Nice Vespa you have 8) |

I have upgrade my Sprint Veloce with a Sito Plus (PX125 type) exhaust for getting just a little more power. Up-jetted from 102 mm. to 104 mm.
It is not giving me that much extra top speed, but more acceleration power. Also, it is a bit louder with its more metallic sound (as expected). My first experiences measured speed with a GPS (Garmin): 55 mph (88 kmh) meaning around 60 mph (95 kmh) indicated on the speedo To keep it beter in shape, I spayed it over with blanc/transparant heat resistent laquer. |

Liking your Sprint V. a lot; I have a first series 1969 Sprint Veloce in original metallic silver (this factory colour has a slight rosy hue which I've grown to like - you don't see this colour often).

I've got a sprint veloce 150 1976 and had a full engine rebuild a few months ago. I'd like to add a little extra as well and got the Sito plus laying in the garage. Could you send me some more details on the jets and on the heat resistent laquer you used? Did you order the jets from SIP? If so, do you still have the part numbers? Thanks for your help! Matt888 |

Hi Matt,
I got my new jet from my Vespa dealer which he has in stock. Guess any PX style jet will fit, just up-jetted from 102 mm. to 104 mm...but result might vary with each engine. I used Motip Heat Resistant Clear Varnish, nr. 04033 EAN 8711347040339 http://www.motip.nl/index.php?page=23&id=1137&cid=206#20647 This clear varnish HR lacquer is more sturdy than the black HR lacquer, so it is better protected against rust and stuff. good luck! |

Foot Rest
Hi bene blu
I know it was a couple of years since this post but did you by any chance keep hold of the footrest/crashbars? I have a 1972 sprint veloce and am looking for the same so I can put my daughter on the back. Or do you know where I could get hold of them? thanks, racing jason |

My oldest Vespa shot in the oldest town in Flanders.
As a Roman city, it was known as 'Atuatuca Tungrorum' Basically, both are Italian made |

Now that's a name I haven't seen in a long time .
Anyway: doesn't it put a tear in your eye, looking at the collection you once had, knowing you're going to depart from the final one...? |
