Here's a pic of the piston that came out of my p2

Replacing with 3rd oversize and a newly bored cylinder.

I was just wondering about the ash color on top. I've pulled my head off and the top of the piston seemed to be consistent in black color.

Thanks,
Steve

Piston
I have to agree with the deanation problem. As for the 3rd oversize Your going to have to check the local supplier for that. First Kick or Scooterworks would be a good place to start, but if you call Scooterwork call into the shop you will get a better answer from them Ann and Perry are ok but they do not know about two strke engines. Get your book out and find out how to check your ign timing also make sure you have the proper heat range on your spark plug and the right type too. The black on the side of the piston is nornal its caused by blow by on the rings, remember if it smokes it good. You'll know that those rings are getting plenty of oil to them. I add 2.oz of Marvel Mistry oil to 2 gal of of fuel and yes I foul the plug around 700miles so what plugs are cheap. Don't forget to deglaze the cyclender with a cyc hone and chech your ring gap to Good luck in doing the fixing Sooters are so much funn

I ordered a 3rd oversize from scooterworks through my local genuine dealer.

Sprung for the OG Italian one too.
