Got a P200 engine that I want to run pre-mix. Do I have to remove the oil pump? Plug it? New airbox? What's it take?
Thanks

Sweet.
I was thinking that the spinning pump along with a plugged line could create some sort of crazy vacuum pressure, ultimately ending in the formation of a black hole inside my engine which would in turn devour not only the scooter and myself but possibly San Francisco as well. That'd be bad... |

well gee, since you put it that way,you better check with nasa or area 51 and see how they plug their hole

i would take the metering parts out of the pump housing. they'll dry spin without the oil hose attached.

This came up elsewhere recently - pull the oil line and replace with a decent vacuum cap AND remove the spindle that connects the engine to the metering device in the airbox.
You may also want to replace the carb gasket with one without the channel for oil. |

I just took off the line and plugged the pipe into the carb with a self tapper. Never trusted the premix after I kitted it

ok,you'll laugh at this one,i cried.
i had a opened up stock motor and a tank with sediment that was messing with my carb. so i put a fuel filter on,cool for the short term. i then did some work to the motor and at the same time pluged the oil line, but did'nt spend a dime to repair the tank issue. so i'm on the 405 freeway cruisin home from work, thinking how nice the bike is running and the 3% IN THE TANK and it happened the filter i was useing was automotive and not for 2t's |

remove the airbox and pull out the drive spindle.
use heavy grease (like high temp disc brake grease) and glob some into the cavity where the spindle engages the metering device. then use non injection gaskets on the airbox base and carb base. finally use a small rubber vaccum plug to cap off the oil intake line. best, -greasy |
