On the basis that not only did you include relevant technical knowledge (5 marks), but also demonstrated an appreciation of slang (999 marks), I am pleased to award you a passing mark of 110 per cent, and the award of a bonus MV patch.

Feedback - if you had written "let one off" in the title, you would have secured our special "Technical Filth Award".

However I feel confident that you have the capability to go that extra mile in in the future.

I would like to point out that the correct term is "homologated", not "homogated".

Nonetheless, I accept Kate's score, and will send Doug a 2007 patch, a 2008 patch, or the forthcoming 2009 patch. His choice.

thanks for posting this. I just started experiencing this at the 600 mile mark after finally running WOT and searched MV like hell and found nothing (even though I see lots was out there).

Can I ask if it was obvious that you should look in the wiki, or perhaps the staff could do more to bring people's attention it?

For this issue I did not look in the wiki, I searched the forums (using different search terms which led me nowhere). Since this issue happened right after the first ride after my oil change (and the first time I rode WOT which I assume may be a cause) I was looking in the wrong places to understand the issue.

I have gone to the wiki in the past for things like oil changes and removing the glove box on purpose. Plus I browsed the wiki just for furthering GTS knowledge.

Does that help any?

*edit* Oh and I re read my post. my ending quote is a movie quote in reference to farting and has nothing to with wiki if I came across the wrong way.

Yes thank you.

One of the ideas behind the wiki is that people can look up problems here more easily than using the search function for all the fora. You tend to get too much back!

A late addition to this thread, but worth noting.

The Wiki does state the European models don't suffer from this noise of 'groaning' etc. But actually, they do. It's not exclusive to models in the states with evap cannisters.

That's pretty much established within various threads but thought it may be a good idea to list this here as well for easy of finding.
