Hey guys! Those of you who have a Givi top case on an LX ... which one do you have?

I can't figure out the best or most appropriate one. The Vespa top case on my LX is fine in regards to size. Is there a comparably sized Givi case you would recommend?

This one is for my LX150 in Toronto. I am going home on July 10 and have already ordered my cut down seat from Pirate and want the case to be there when I arrive. I have some shopping to do!

The E260 Micro II is the same size roughly as the Piaggio one. The best looking is the E340 though! I have it on a Mojito and it looks OK.
The curves make it look less boxy. Here it is on my GTS. The angle makes it look huge which it isn't.

Thanks Dougl65!

That does look rather large ...but as it is in the foreground of the shot, I suppose it is a little deceptive. You don't think it would overpower an LX? How much bigger is it than the standard LX case do you think? Is it higher? Wider?

How does it attach to your chrome carrier? Did you have to have anything specially made?

Lianne, I think you'll find that the 35 L topcases are a good size for a smaller scooter while still being large enough for a full face helmet and a few other things. I've had my old Givi E35 now for several years, it was originally on my Vino 125 which is a smaller scooter than your LX and it didn't look too big. I'd go with something around that size.

The LX doesn't come with a rear rack unless the one you purchased did. You might need to buy a rear rack so you can then attach the Givi universal mounting plate to in order to install your topcase.

It is roughly the same height as the Piaggio one, just wider. The dimensions are on the following site:

http://www.hard-motorcycle-luggage.co.uk/acatalog/givi-monolock-top-cases.html

As for mounting the supplied universal plate is easy to attach to a rack.

This is the 26 litre which is the same size as the piaggio one.

Thanks much guys ... I'll look into both more closely. Benny, where would be the closest place near North York (Leslie and York Mills area) to go see the different Givi cases?

I'm not sure who actually has any in stock, I've always had to have mine ordered for me. You might want to ask over on TMSC to see if anyone knows of stores who have them in stock Lianne, sorry.

PS If you I will take a picture of it later on the Aprilia Mojito, so that you can see what the 340 looks like on a small scooter. It is one of the nicest looking Givi boxes there is IMHO.

That's what I was afraid of. It seems I am always buying things sight unseen. It's tiresome as you have to do so much more shopping in order to be able to figure out what would be best for your needs! Of well, such is life!

I'm not sure about size comparisons, but here's what the Givi E30 looks like on my LX150:

I couldn't find anything about where they would ship free, but you could contact them to find out.

I have the E30 on my Buddy and the Vespa box on my LX150. The Givi is similarly sized to the Vespa, just enough bigger to actually get a full face helmet inside.

And, I added the taillight feature.

Whatever case you get, if you don't add the tail light kit, be sure to add some SOLAS tape behind the "reflector."

Or you can get both and add a brake light modulator to really get cagers' attention at stop lights.

Thanks again everyone! That's great Danny ... looks like the E30 is about as big as I need or want. I will definitely get the one with the brake light but think I'll pass on the modulator. Personally, I hate things that flash. Makes me feel sick for some reason. Don't ask me why ... I have no idea, but I wouldn't appreciate being behind someone with a flashing brake light.

I wouldn't. They bounce around and the brake light flashes. You need to modify the connector to stop it happening. Most people don't realise it is as they don't see their own light!

As promised, here are some pics of the Aprilia which is LX sized. Sorry it's dark but you get the idea....

The extra size is very nice and the curves, which the 30 and 26 litre don't have, match the curviness of the LX...

Hi Dougl65 and many thanks for the photos. Does a full face helmet fit in there without any problem?

Oh yes, and a bit more: gloves, waterproof. I really like the curved form factor, which matches curvy scoots. My second choice would be a black E260 Micro II.

These seem to be your options from Givi Canada...

Darn it ... now I am confused again. I called MotorCycle Sports in Toronto yesterday and they told me to call back today to place my order.

I'll have to figure out what the dimensions of all of them are in "English". I can't picture what these mm measurements will look like in my head. The Vespa top case is considerably smaller and I do not want something that is out of proportion to the scooter!

I guess I have some converting to do.

I just came back from the store with 24 cans of soda in my Givi E30, with room to spare! I really didn't think it would hold all that.

I use the Givi E30 also, and have two mounting racks installed so I can switch it easily between my GT and my Buddy!
-A good workhorse, decent sized smaller case, IMO.

A tip tho; I found the case rattled a bit with my scooters' vibration,
and I discovered it was the upper lid rattling over the bottom edge when it was closed.
I fixed it by pasting two small tabs (the things you stick on the bottom of chair legs to keep them from sliding)
on both outer sides of the bottom edges, so the closed top now rests snuggly against them instead of the hard edge.
And presto; no more rattling topcase lid!

I went for the E370. It's large, quite large, but it still works just fine and I wanted the space.
