Rightio ive got the loom through and working kind of. Im completely confused about the hand switches/bulbs.

Brake light works fine

The wires coming up from the loom to headset are white black green yellow

Now I know

Yellow- 12v feed for lights
Green - Kill
White - Horn
Black - Tail Light

Now these are tested and all work.

Now the confusing bit is the headlight switch, i have this kind of switch

http://www.scooterhelp.com/manuals/VSX1T.manual/008.jpg

Now the switch has yellow, grey, white, brown, purple wires (minus the horn wires)

Now the yellow is the 12v feed (or is it?)but other than that im completely clueless. Cant find a wiring diagram and its 12v cdi but old switch.

Ive tried tested different ones, ive obviously earthed the light bulb holder, tested all bulbs and all work. but i thought I was getting somewhere as the grey wire keeps the side lights on when the toggle switch is switched both ways and turns them off when at position zero, but if you plug in what i think is high/low it doesnt work

I´m in a similar boat rewiring a non-battery P200.

When I bought the headlight horn switch there was enough cable on the switch to go straight down to the junction box on the front of the scooter. So that´s where there they plugged in. blue and yellow left over to connect to the horn.

Leaving me 5 wires from the main loam to connect to the (i´m guessing) the ignition switch and the front light.

Wiring diagram are on vespamaintenance.com Also a few pictures with the wiring intact in the front end work section.

Im still clueless and getting a bit downbeat. Im desparately trying to get the scooter ready by end of june so I can take it on holiday. Everything else which needs done is little compared to the wiring

blue and yellow should go to the horn, not the red and white you show.

i hate to say this, but your wiring should be pretty straight forward.

take a big deep breath and look at it in sections.

i hope your useing the wiring diagrams provided on scooterhelp.

is your bike battery or non.

http://www.scooterhelp.com/electrics/pages/VNX2T.px125e.html

follow the diagram, check your work as you go,diagram, wire diagram,wire,diagram,wire,ect......

on a earlier p series sometimes the harness that comes in the mail is slightly different than stock,i don't know if thius is the case with your bike.

if you get to a point where everything seems to work but you have a similar connection, well then replace one connection with a male or female, which ever is needed.

you should have a meter and some extra male/female connections and some shrink tubing wouldnt hurt.

i hope this helps a little.

but the red and white come out the horn piece of the loom?

im using this 12v conversion loom

http://www.allstyles-scooters.com/P125_loom_vintage.html

but keeping the px switch

The problem is most wiring diagrams dont help as im using new cdi/rectifier loom but old px switch. And i have no indicators or battery, but I do have key ignition.

The thing which I cant get my head round is do the wires from the switch (brown, grey, white, purple) just connect straight to the light holder and does the yellow wire from the switch connect to the main loom yellow 12v supply?

I tried this yesterday and bulbs work but i cant get them correct, the main beam stays on no matter which switch selection is picked.

Also if im reading this diagram correctly
http://www.scooterhelp.com/electrics/wiring/VSX1T.px200e.nobatt.pdf
is the main 12v feed to the lights/switch grey?

YAY!!

FIXED THE LIGHTS!, it was the grey wire which was main 12v feed to switch, not yellow

still leaves me with non working horn though (switch has 2xblue/yellow wires for horn) but loom has red/white

and there is still a white lead coming from the switch which is active when the lights are on off position, could this be an extra earth?
