HELLO GUYS

Today I have become a proud owner of an old PIAGGIO LML NV VESPA (YUPIIIIIII ...). I have taken some pics of the VESPA and of that REGULATOR/RECTIFIER (or whatever it is ) and I hope that you can tell me the exact model that I need to buy to replace the old one. Th VESPA doesn't have battery they told me.
I would appreciate it if you can tell me which exact model of Rectifier I can buy in order to fit my ML VEspa.
If you can search on this WEBSITE from UK

https://beedspeed.com/index.php

,cause I have someone coming here in 1 week, and he can order it overthere in UK and bring it to me in Macedonia (there are no VESPA spare parts shop here or are difficult to find). Or if someone knows even better and cheaper webshop for VESPA parts in UK,please tell me.

Thanks again to all of you

hmmm....ok...

so, there's three things in the picture there.

There's a 4 pole rectifier, upsidedown, with the wires hanging downward

Behind it is a 3 pole regulator, of which you got closeups of.

and to the right is the flasher relay.

is it possible that thing hanging upsidedown is one of those 2-piece CDI's ?

Juno - take a pic of the engine without the cowl on, particularly the back of it where the spark plug wire plugs into a box looking thing.

what do you mean? I'm sure you CAN get them in europe for 40-50 euro. Go buy one!

I'm just posting two prices for practically the same exact thing.

What's stupid is that there's about 30 cents worth of electrical components in that metal case. I don't see how they can justify selling it for $150 bucks at scooterworks.
So they can better serve you with outstanding customer service and tech support!

That looks to be the same set up as a Stella electric wise. Check out stellaspeed.com and ask the experts there.

OK... then i surmise the 4-pole thing on the other side is the CDI ..the thing with wires pointing straight downward. ( see why? There's no CDI over here - just an HT coil )

So, you only need a 3 pole regulator,... which is a much cheaper part to get your hands on.

Well, let's determine which of those two boxes is bad...

Can you start the scooter? Does it run? If so, it's not your CDI that needs replaced.

Do you have no lights or horn or signals? It's probably your regulator.

If the scooter can run, then your CDI is fine. That's the part that triggers the spark, so if it's broken you won't get any spark at all.

If the dude says your regulator is bad, order the part i said.
