A good friend of mine has asked for advise on this scooter:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170368180437&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:MOTORS:1123#v4-33

I knew immediately that I should turn this over to you guys for your opinion. The person selling this is a mutual friend, so there isn't as much concern about this being a Viet-bodge. However, I don't know the history of this scooter at all. I'm going to forward the link to this thread to my friend who wanted the advise, and perhaps they'll register and chime in with additional questions.

Depending on how high the auction goes, i could be up for buying that.

I don't see too many sidecars like that...

Where's dullivan...he could put his wife in the sidecar.

Looks like a good bike, not a fan of sidecars though personally.

Did someone move the rectifier to the engine side?

I'm pretty sure that my friend is interested in buying it, so I'm not trying to encourage you guys to go after it. All I'm really asking is what do you think it's worth, and can you see any major problems with it?

Why is the rectifier and flasher unit on the engine side?

*oops, Jeremy beat me to it*

Yeah, they did. . and the flasher relay.

I wonder if they lost the battery holding tray, and so they stuck the battery where all this stuff would normally go.

Also, it was a US-style fuel tap that's since broken off ( as they tended to do )

and there's a weird keyswitch next to it someone must have installed.

It looks like they knocked the nose off of a cold war rocket to make that thing!

This one has been on eBay before, but didn't make the reserve price. I have a feeling it is set too high for the current market.
