I know it's been awhile, but can I have a clue for Yermo? I wanna play!

Don't look at the small writing It is fun. I generally start with Google, often Google Images.

Put "Yermo" in Google will take you into the Mojave, just past Barstow. Not what you are looking for.

Use "Coke Logo" and you will find Coca-Cola. Try "Yermo Logo" doesn't help.

Company animals are "mascots" -- "Yermo Moscot" in Google Images works, which leads to a website, an address, map, aerial view, a-Ha!

Great posts. I moved to Seattle from Long Beach (20 year resident) in January. I was feeling a bit homesick and this hit the spot. THANKS!

I had just about given up on finding Yermo when I found myself having lunch with my BFF in Wilmington today...
"Are we in Wilmington?" I asked
"Yup," she replied
"YERMO!!"

Come to find out he was only 1.8 miles from where I had lunch....

Man it was windy today. But here's the next tag...

In front of Manhattan Beach Fire Department Station 1, southwest corner of N Valley Dr and 15th St.

You parked on the sidewalk. I parked legally on the northeast corner of N Ardmore Ave and 15th St., about 160 feet away:

It was a nice 10 minute walk around the intersection.

I remember when this building was built, circa 1984. It was built in five floors, but was designed to be eight floors. If they need to expand they could build the top three floors.

The Standing Room. Reviews were 10 "Excellent"s and 2 that were merely "Very Good."

Strange place, a real "hole in the wall" -- literally! It is in the corner of a liquor store -- go in to give in your order, get your food through that hole in the wall. No standing room inside, but there are four tables outside. I was there about 12:30p with about 10 people sitting.

You know, I think I saw the dent your centerstand left in the asphalt.

Do either of you belong to local scooter clubs? We did our first ride with the South Bay Scooter Club last month and hope to make it back in time on Saturday to make this month's ride!

that's so funny.. I live right up the street and go by all the time.But, never took notice of the place after they changed it from a really good pizza counter. now i'm going to go more often after seeing that menu. wow

Local scooter clubs? Why yes -- yes I do.
I skipped last month's SBSC ride because my LX S 150 was overkill for the "Slow Ride", but other than that, I've made almost every one of their rides in the past year. I usually go with the Los Angeles Scooter Group (and coordinate group rides from the South Bay to the LASG route starting points and back). Likewise for the Long Beach Area Scooter Group.

Alas, I've had to miss a few rides lately due to "real life" getting in the way.

I do have a new tag, but really dislike the way the photo turned out. I can't get a decent angle that includes my bike as well as background scenery that would make it findable, and this particular shot had terrible lighting. I'll try again tomorrow from the same spot, to see if I can salvage that location.

Couldn't get the tag I wanted to do yesterday to work properly, even with better light. So, I'll try this one instead.

I totally know this one but I'm in AZ! I wonder if someone will beat me to it...

Looks like I need to find a better balance between setting up a race to the tag on one hand, and leaving a tedious search-engine grind on the other.

The point of view taken about an inch closer to the scooter. If you look at the cracks in the pavement I was an inch or so rearward. The shadow of the tree shows that I was 30-40 earlier in the day than Rusty. But at least my picture included me (w/ Hawaiian Shirt)

@ Paladin:
Are you using a timer or a wireless remote?

I'd considered using a bluetooth mouse paired to my phone as a low-budget substitute for a remote, with a Post-It Note™ over the tracking laser to keep the cursor from drifting off the shutter "button" as I get into place. Range would be limited, though.

(It's only low-budget because I already have one.)

EDITED TO ADD: I tried the mouse-as-remote, as described above. It works, though it is slightly awkward. The range is at least 30 feet. Now I need to fabricate a tripod mount for my phone...

My camera is a Fuji FinePix S2950 that AT&T gave me for my 40th anniversary. It has a 10 second timer -- I did pretty getting that far, eh?
