I'm not into bicycles so i'm not in the loop about the cork. That would be cool if cork outlasted everything else here. Amazed at what goes south and how quickly here.

I've got cork bar tape on my touring bike, too. Good cushioning, but stains easily.

I once shared a cab with Grant Peterson who was the guy in charge of Bridgestone during the time this RB-T was made. Now he has a company called Rivendell Bike Works. Super nice guy and amazing lug work and design for the cycling crumudgeon in all of us.

Take a look at this site for more... http://www.rivbike.com

Bendy: Yep, I've been a BOB (now iBOB) for decades, and very familiar with Grant's philosophy and products. The above Atlantis was the next iteration of my RB-T.

And you'll notice that all of my bikes are steel, and several lugged, so I'm of the "Steel is Real" snob faction. Wife and daughter have aluminum, though.

Tom: Thanks! Here's a LINK to the whole herd.

That Bridgestone is gorgeous.

My commuter. A Salsa Casseroll steel frame with 35c tires and 32 spoke wheels to brave the bad roads around here. It gets about 40 miles a week.

My grocery getter. I pulled it out of a dumpster 8 years ago, put air in the tires, a Wald basket on it, and have been riding it since. It makes wonderful noises when riding.

Thanks Judy. Yes The Lovely has one too. It made sense since it allows us more time together and vastly increases her range too. She uses hers at 20-40% assistance and seldom uses the throttle. Originally I wanted two 150cc scooters but a MC license just wasn't her cup of tea. This has been a real boom for our relationship as well. We have ridden together every day that the weather permits. Once she rode a crank forward bike she was hooked and the Vespa proceeds were sufficient to build two, based on new bikes that had the perfect geometry for mid drive motors. Being able to flat foot and not jump up and down from a seat changes the entire bicycling experience into low impact exercise. Thanks to DougL I have a horn nearly as loud as my former Stebel. Again thanks to MV my new anchors for securing the bikes will be here today. MV rises to the occasion again!

This is Shelby my 29er mountain bike. My VW beetle needs a new engine and my Vespa was in the shop for 2 weeks to fix a fuel leak AND a coolant leak they found while working on it. I commuted to work via bus and bicycle averaging 6+miles of riding a day.

I have a problem on my iPad as well. I discovered if I click on the blank spot where the photo or video should be, it comes up. Worth a try.

The Fargos are fantastic. Nice! Everyone that owns one loves them. If I did more off-road touring I would have one. I went with the Casseroll because I'm 95% on road.

Giant Once replica
2003 Giant Once replica that the Spanish racing team used.
Once means "Organización Nacional de Ciegos Españoles"
National Spanish Organization for the Blind. They sponsored the racing team to raise funds for the blind. They're main income comes from a national weekly lottery.

Currently lusting over one of these at my LBS (well, local...ish):

A Handsome Cycles Fredward in "Stovepipe" with black fenders, seat, and grips. Available as a single-speed or with a internally geared 3-speed hub - not sure which I would prefer. Probably whatever's available, as they don't make a ton of these...

I rode this to work today. It's a little switched up from the last photo so I thought I would re-post. I love my bike.

2009 Salsa Casseroll steel frame.
38c Compass tires with Velocity 32 spoke rims.
Duracci derailleurs.
105 shifters.
Selle Anatomica saddle.
Ultegra cranks and hubs.
Acorn randonneur handlebar bag which I used to bring sandwiches from Mona Lisa in to coworkers today.
Velo Orange deep calipers, stem, and randonneur bars.

I'd never seen a Priority bike before. Seems like a nice idea for the majority of bike riders, at least the ones I know. Good looking too.

Three bicycles: a folder (Bike Friday tikit); MTB (Santa Cruz Highball); touring bike (Surly Long Haul Trucker). Paradoxically, I used Trucker for commuting and shopping, and my longest ride (a century) was on the folder. The MTB I use for light off-road use - no technical trail riding.
