Team MV, led off the ferry by Wonder Machine and genie, is once again encamped on the beautiful island of Paros.

Day one has drawn to a close, and the 18 of us have managed to EAT, RIDE, DRINK in grand fashion. Due to the late hour, you'll have to wait a day to see more detailed pics of our merriment, but rest assured, we are representing you all very well.

Of course, we are suffering from a lack of clouds, an excess of sunshine, good scenery, great food, nice riding, good drink and more, but someone has to sacrifice for the greater good!

... yes the sacrifice of good friends, good weather, good food and good beverages is a tough pill to swallow.

Now lets get some bigger pictures so I can see with my mature eyes.

Have fun!

Yay, glad to hear that you all made it, in spite of the best (worst) efforts of BA and Eyjafjällajökull. Have fun while we're stuck riding in the cold, rainy weather here in California!

Wonderful that the adventure has started again. The rest of us poor souls stuck at home and at work will have to live vicariously through your accounts posted here. Please post away for our enjoyment.

Jealous, I'm not jealous, wait till you hear the suffering they go through everyday, it was hard to read the daily updates last year

Yet, I am working everyday in a beautiful data center with lots of loud computers and cold air blowing on me. I can just look up into any vent blowing down at 50 MPH and feel like I am in a winter wind storm. Who's jealous?

Have a great time everyone. Couldn't join the party this year as my daughter graduates from high school on Wednesday. Eat often, drink lots, ride safe, and keep Bill on a leash!

Competition in the road rally began today.
First, get dressed for road rallying:

Lots of preparation and decisions to be made, like where to put the course maps and navigation instruction. Long legs are better than short forearms!

Then line up for your start signal. No our heads are not bowed in prayer. We are trying to read our maps!

After a grueling measured course, nothing compares with the joy of approaching the finish line!

Then finish up the riding day with a reception at A&A's house.

Tomorrow is a free day. Lots of exploring and touring on the schedule. More pics to come.

Yep, still hate. I'll follow throughout and hate you all all the way through. Please post names so we can put faces to the names finally. If for no other reason to know who the MV hotties are!

Please take a few pictures of ancient ruins so I can pretend I'm there studying Mycenaean culture and learning about ancient building methods....

We talked about your lying ways all through dinner, Gitta

We'll just have to do it again next year to give you a chance to redeem yourself.

Yesterday was the first day of competitive riding. Not too many folks got lost, and we all made it home in one piece. Mr Wonder(ful) is quite an impressive navigator. Will allow others to enjoy anonymity.

MVers in the group are genie, Wonder Machine, Mr Wonder(ful), Kayemtee, BleuBelle and Mr & Mrs Aviator47. Not sure which of the other 11 ralliers have MV identities.

Today was a free day, so we broke up into groups to pursue our interests. We asked our resident Teenage Mutant Ninja MVer which way to go and got an immediate answer:

So we headed to the highest mountain peak on the island.

Of course, not everybody expresses their awe of nature in the same manner.

Tomorrow morning we return to competitive riding, a ride on Antiparos, and then enjoy a barbecue in the evening.

Team MV

Al! I am shocked, shocked I say, that you could forget BleuBelle amongst the nom de guerre of the attending MV-ers! Esp since I am there in the damn pics in my distinctive blue jacket. No pastries for you!
PS. The smart-ass posing on the mountain with Genie is BillDog aka Billy no scoot.

Why did I think that was going to be a photo of someone peeing behind a bush?

Lovely scenery and looks like BleuBelle carried out her threat of taking the nice weather she brought to London away with her again!

That's OK. Genie got him back by providing Bill with his own "bunny ears".

There's a rally going on here which is apparently very good.

But the real news is that Greek white wine is rocket fuel. And you can eat a disgustingly good amount of bbq for 8 euro.

Been way too busy to post, but here's a couple of pics from tonight's Paros Trophy awards dinner. The president of the town council and his wife joined us for dinner, and he presented the trophies.

Team Skok was our first place team, followed by the Flushing Flashers.

Individual competition awards went to:

Kayemtee (3rd place), BleuBelle (2nd Place) and Mr Wonder(ful)

Of course, it was all done over a wonderful Greek dinner and drink.

Tomorrow morning we board the ferry for Naxos and the next round of competition. More pics once we finish up there. Gonna be too busy with EAT, RIDE, DRINK!!

Proud to be a Skok.
Well done Donkei Skok SC. Nice work. But stop enjoying yourself, it looks rather annoying from over here.

Accidentally found one of the 'unofficial' nude beaches today near Akilo.... (as there are no 'official' nude beaches in Greece)

Sorry, I didn't have my cameral with me.

Finally Home well Hackney anyway.

We ride too fast Kate ? are you sure ? Seems like I was the only one riding too fast....again.

Just wanted to say what an amazing time we all had riding, talking bollocks, eating so much, laying on beaches, going oooh at kittens, pointing at stuff, meeting some lovely Americans and Canadians, drinking some lethal wine, avoiding goats and cows, putting on loads of weight, getting eaten by Mozzies, laughing like drains and generally riding like demons on the many amazing roads of Naxos and Paros and then getting home to find the cats have has some new interior design ideas with the furniture while we've been away,

I'm sure there are more pictures to come but for now I'd just like to thank Ardy and Al plus Maria for organising a stunning rally in an amazing location.

Thank You.

PS Does anyone want a hint about riding a Cumquat Agility properly ?
