Smaller. It looks like a whole new chassis. Very cool.

The front wheels stick out from the body in front and on the sides - definitely a sportier look. Lighter weight, but don't know how much.

I like it a lot better than the Yourban (what a terrible name).

We'll probably never see it in the U.S.

I'm with Maksor on that. What with the lighter weight it surely would have been a Sport.

Yeah, but I would still rather buy the 500 for the extra power it has.

That may be so, but I don't have the licence to ride a BV. So it'll have to stay the MP3 500

Hello Charles. I did a Test Drive with the new 500 hpe on Friday and it really eats up the curves. Very impressive. I am actually kicking around the idea of getting myself an advanced model. I am not sure if I really want to part with Matilda yet, but the dealer offered me a very good price for her. I think I'll have to sweat this out a bit.

You can ride an MP3 500 on a license you can't ride a BV350? Wow that makes no sense. So I'm guessing things like the CanAM is also allowed on your license as it has 3 wheels? I'm also guessing the Niken trike in NOT allowed as the wheels are too close together so it's considered a motorcycle? A little confusing for sure and TBH sounds a little dangerous as even with wide wheel spacing the MP3 is still a motorcycle.

Just one more thing on the list of "things that don't make sense".

It's a very long list.

Mine has a Foot padal for the brakes as well as on the Steering and according to German law, I can ride it with a normal car licence. Cool huh?

He has an LT model that has a foot brake and the front wheels are further apart to meet UK and EU requirements.

OK, makes sense as that is the law. So this means it handles more like a car than a bike and so no motorcycle skill is required? Just seems a little strange after reading all the stories here about how much of a pain it is to get a motorcycle license in at least parts of the EU.

Sure you can self learn as hell when I got my MC license the requirements were a joke. I guess the downside is your selection of what you can ride is limited but I can see so many people going the easy route and not getting proper training. Most with no real harm coming but proper training is something I believe in.

nope...handles just like a motorcycle, just with two wheels up front. You need to have skills/knowledge of riding. The only nice part is the tilt lock allowing you to put your legs up when you are stopped at a traffic light.

Let me explain something to all of yo u Impies out there. They make it very hard and very expensive here to get any type of driving licence as it is. So somebody got the bright idea to make it legal for people with a plain driver licence made before 2013 to be able to ride one. In other words it is all about making money. It is a marketing niche´.

its a littlebit Different

from 1960 till 1993 London did have the Robin Reiliant a 3 wheeled car that could be driven with a A class "fuhrerschein " and taxed as a motorcycle

The city complaint with EEG then and Euro wide it was a car everybody forgot about it

then in 2006 the mp3 was release Stefan Nieberg from Pedalo.de found the loophole in the Euro law and made kit for it in 2007

Then in 2009 Piaggio made there own L5e in 2013 the EU changed the law back to 1993

in Belgium its even stranger they introduced the motorcycle license in 1991 everybody how did have there B class did automaticly get a A class with it

The netherlands did the same with AM and T in 200x i'm not aloud to drive a 18 wheeler but i'm able to drive a Farmer truck with 20 tons of goods on it

Thanks for clarifying the licensing. My wife is taking the course this weekend and was at the practical class last night. If all goes well she will have her license EOD Sunday. After that is she wants a 1700CC Vulcan she can get one. I'm pretty sure it's costing us under $500.
