It's now as near as damn it official, so eff-it - we're (ok, it's Kristin, I'm merely a co-conspirator) adopting the little tyke.

A different coloured lead (leash) has been obtained though, I'm glad to hear, YAY!!!! (and PHEW!!!)

There are feverish knit-ins as I write apparently potentially providing him with custom un-piss-on-able sweaters. Doomed to failure say I. A mere matter of biology and physics...
Got to this thread late. Not too late, I hope, to say a heart-felt 'well done Jim & Kristin'

Yep, pretty much an obligation at this point.

Quite long ones in this case, for a Chihuahua. Kristin reckons he's got quite a bit of Italian Greyhound in him:

After seeing that picture of jimc and Frosty I'm inclined to see it as a Chihuahua thing.

Our Chihuahua does the same thing getting close in angles of the anatomy such as the knees. I have more pictures like that than I care to think about, and I really love our little Chloe.

Well I'm going to get too emotional for my own good so I'm going to stop here while I'm ahead.

Out of my hands at the moment (I'm UK-side). But K has a 'Final name decision' choice to make, so this thread may not fade just yet...

New name is now 'Freddo' - Italian for cold. Yes, with two 'd's. Pictured here while looking after K who had a bad cold over the last couple of days:

Jim: Not to be the master of the obvious or anything, but you do realize that Freddo is wearing an argyle sweater, right? Just thought I'd highlight that fact . . .

I'm clueless about clothing, I'll take your word for it. One thing I do know is that this sweater has a gap underneath so he's not so likely to piss on it. Mostly successful I hear.

And apparently he's put on more than 15oz since we found him.

Puppychinni Al Freddo
Freddo is settling in quite nicely to his new home! He is such a great dog I can't believe how lucky we are to have found him! He is a snuggly loving doggy, crate trained, potty trained, people friendly, only barks when someone comes to the door and has negotiated a successful peace treaty with the cats. Best part of all, which sealed the deal, he LOVES riding on the scooter!

Thanks to all for your great rescue stories and your overwhelming support!

Cheers

Kristin & Freddo

Kristin, congratulations on your new addition-- and what we all want to know now is: when will Jim get his own argyle sweater??

p.s. Perhaps Freddo can share your login name....

It was great fun seeing you guys. I wished I could have met up again.

Maybe I can get my sweater back them...LOL

That pink lead is toast as far as I'm concerned...

Not fussed about clothes on me - I don't have to look at them.

Freddo (aka Frosty) was right from the start eager to please, even when apparently near death. It's *that* spirit I admire.

Plucky little bugger, we (mostly K to be fair) will look after him well.

Jim -- as someone who adopted a Chihuahua/Doxie mix from the Palm Springs pound last summer, congrats to you for everything you've done! We love our Molly...who's had some adjustments to make since we believe she was abused/punished excessively (though not to Frosty's extent)...but with patience and love and care...

Doubt that Molly will ride in a carrier on the hook on the GTV 300, but ya' never know!

Curmudgeon? Certainly doesn't mean heartless.

To join in the chorus, good on ya' man!

Jim & Kristin:
As we say down south........."ya'll done good".

You are truly good people. We have rescued dogs & cats for years and found them permanent homes rather than let them be destroyed. Five years ago, a starving, five week old kitten wandered into our yard. He still lives here and will probably outlive me. We also have an American Cocker Spaniel who was abused and no one would take him at the animal shelter where my daughter in law is the accountant............so off he went to our home and he's also going to live here for the rest of his life. My wife and I are suckers for stories like this and the dog that Desmo rescued last year. Good on you!
