I found the reflectivity of the red reflectors on the Vespa top case was very low at night.

A c/d (cheap & dirty) fix was to use some chrome spray paint on the under panel, beneath the reflectors.

The reflectors are easy to remove, with only 1 screw, washer and rubber bump to be loosened/removed in order to free them.
Once this is done, simply mask off the rest of the top case and spray the under panel, let dry for an hour or so, then re-install the reflectors.

The night time reflectivity is increased quite substantially.

None. Maybe again someday when Michelle won't worry.

Great idea....when you get a chance, I would love to see some night pics to see the difference. I placed a few reflective decals under mine and it helped some. I would really like to do the LED light mod that some are doing but just don't have the time to wire it up.

Spray can chrome! I love that stuff, but never found any good uses for it! I use to take it camping with me in the desert, and at night I would go around camp chroming food and other items that my friends left out.

Below is a picture of a test of 2 different reflective materials, taken with flash at about 15 feet. Both test strips are under the 'reflector'. The material on the left is top of the line white reflective. The material on the right is silver, similar to what you find on riding gear. I'm using the material on the right.
