My Choke cable wasn't seating properly, like this

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

And it caused the metal end cap to break and made it so that the choke would not go in all the way. Has any one else had problems with the cable not staying in the choke tube, and if so is there a fix.

Also what is the little rubber sleeve for?

This happened to me once. I found that a previous cable end was still jammed in the tube on the frame. Once removed, the replacement fit fine.

I also had this happen to me . It was like above the end cap of the previous cable was stuck in there. I could not get it out. I ended up using a Dremel cutting tool and just nipping off the end of the tube so i could get it out. It was a pain in the ass..
