Just bought new MP3 500, first time I filled the tank, guage only read 3/4 full. stayed there for about a week, then gas light came on and guage dropped below E. Next two times I have filled it up, guage only reads 1/2 tank. guage drops to E, light comes on but when i fill it , it only take a little over a gallon. I can see the gas tank is full. Has anyone else had this issue.

I had the same issue when I first got my 500.

Eventually the level sensor will unstick and start working normally.

Atleast, that was my experience. Just get in the habit of using your trip odometer as your gauge of when to refill.

I reset my trip odometer every time I fill up and then usually start looking for a gas station around 100 - 120 miles.

Good luck and have fun!

It's a great scoot.

Yep that is good advice. Use the trip odo. Even when the fuel gauge "works" they are notoriously inaccurate. Same with the speedo. Try getting a gps and compare it to your speedo and you will see what I mean.

also to note your gas tank holds 3.2 gallons. use the trip odometer and fill up at 125 miles and your golden.

Going up and down San Marcos pass outside of Santa Barbara, my tank will go from an indicated bone-dry to 1/2 tank! Trip odometer is the way...

As it is new it is a warranty item. At least alert the dealer so if it doesn't correct itself they are aware they need to fix under warranty. Real PITA to get to it.
