Guys and Girls,

I picked up this little Stella this week. It is a dream to ride around town! I would like to change the black paint scheme to a two tone paint scheme, however.

You can say what you like about the Vietnamese crap jobs but they have great looking paint schemes. I would like to use the black color as a base and add a second (or more) colors to achieve a very retro/Euro type of look. Does anybody have any ideas? Anybody out there that is a Photoshop genius that can give me any ideas based on these photos? I'm also willing to change the seat color or style.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! BTW, the photos were taken with my new iPhone 4s. The camera is great but the Siri voice control still has flaws that need to be fixed in future software updates.

Ok, I'm not looking for wise ass cracks saying "don't do it". I'm going to put a two tone paint job on the bike. I'm simply looking for suggestions for something that will look good. I THOUGHT I might find some help on this forum. I'm sure there are some talented artists who are good at both design and Photoshop.

Personal opinion:
I would just stick with a second color, and not a third. Might get a bit too busy, and it seems not a lot of people do it very well once you go beyond two colors. Not impossible, but not easy to do it right.

I'd say you could go with just about anything that isn't too pastel for your second color. That's the nice thing about black, it goes with darn near anything.

Did you have any thoughts about what your second color might be?

By the way, love all the chrome bits. I'm partial to shiny things.

I'm thinking about a tan (similar to the color on you avatar scooter) or light cream yellow. I agree about the third color. I just threw it out there as a possible option.

Sorry, not the best Photoshop job.... but perhaps something like this? Ivory seems to be a tricky color to get Photoshop to do. Maybe you could include the headset, maybe not.

We have multiple scooters at the shop I work at that are two-tone black with ivory. They all look pretty darn sharp to me. Some have brown seats and grips, too.

Thanks! Yes, this is something similar to what I am considering. I would probably change the seat to a lighter color to help coordinate the look. The headset is also a definite possibility. I was hoping someone might be able to point me to a photo a great paint scheme that uses black as a base color.

Here's the opposite rendering. I got a PX150 that I think the previous owner wrecked. It ended up with black cowls and front fender.

Not bad. But this would require a lot more work. I had given some thought to doing something like this but I was hoping to avoid a complete disassembly. It looks good, however.

The black and white look sharp (IMHO)
Don't paint the headset, just reupholster the seat, High quality material, nice stitches and maybe a white strap.

ACKscooter.

There is always the possibility of using vinyl wrap, either in a design or solid look.Just something to consider since you dont want to do a complete tear down.

Very true, excellent suggestion. It's like a chic Italian tailored tuxedo, careful it doesn't become a ruffled prom rental...unless, of course, that's an option.
As one suggested, you may want to consider a two tone black & white seat and perhaps a white racing stripes for a little sportier look. Either way you've got a beautiful scoot, very happy for you, ride safe ; j
