I wanted to get the LED kit for my GTS which enables white LED running lights when the signals aren't in use but the disclaimer on their website is keeping me from ordering. I wonder what the chances are of getting a kit that exhibits this behavior? Here's what it says:

We have come to find that there is an occasional glitch with the LED turn signal kit. It has only occurred on some of the kits we have sold. Sometimes, when you cancel the turn signal it can take up to 30 seconds for the running light to come back on.

It's due to the nature of LED bulbs and the way they pick up interference. We're actively looking for new bulb sources and continually testing other brands of LED bulbs. LED bulb technologies are relatively new and evolving on a daily basis. There are only a few bulbs with this level of sophistication that will work for this application that we have been able to find. The ones included with the kit are the best ones we've been able to find to date.

mine didnt' work. Worked with the scooter off, but then when running they cut out. Grounded the fixtures, and then it worked while idling. Then when giving throttle they cut out. There's someone else I pmed back and forth with the same problem and neither of us were able to fix it. Went back to filaments

Anyone have any problems with the rear led turn kit scooter west offers? I would like to order 2 sets for front and rear. Might as well ask about the brake and taillight LEDs too. The 920 and 194 bulb. Any issues?

Have you noticed any delay with the lights coming on after disengaging the turn signal?

About the same, that's normal. Once I had a longer delay. No big deal. The running lights will still be on for 99.99% of the time.

Ordered a set for my 2012 GTS..... worked fine in the garage, but on the open road was a different story.
When I started out they were fine but the first time I used either side they wouldn't come on again until the bike was turned off then they were fine until I used them again.
Ended up retuning them, Scooterwest were fantastic and the credit was handled with ease. A real shame as they looked fantastic until I used them on scooter.
I've now done the 'brighteyes' upgrade.....looks brilliant and works a treat.

Only one side did not work
I have a 09 S 150 and only the left side would not work. I would turn the scooter on and the white would come on both sides. Then when I turned the left turn signal on the yellow would blick but the white would not come back on until I turned the scooter off and then back on. I could switch bulbs and the problem would stay on the left. Put in filament bulbs, and they would work as expected.

Not sure what the problem could be. Talked with a person at Scooter West and he thinks it might be interference from the charging system.

I swapped parking, horn, tail, and brake lights with their LEDs. All have worked flawlessly for the few months I've had them.

I've wanted to try their signal/running lights, but have been trying to source a set of used signal housings first. Before Motorsport came out with their kits, I made my own (and modified the housings in doing so).

I have both, front and rear, however, as yet I have not installed the rear "running light" portion. Also I have switched all my lights to LED except the headlight, which is HID. So far they all work great, the fronts do have about a one second delay to return to running lights, I'm really very pleased with them. One LED the main rear did not work right, not all of the little diodes came on?? Now I bought bulbs from a couple of sources so it may have been faulty. Replaced it today, this one seems fine, so far. Mind you, all my lights and my scooter are just getting back on the road so it's a very fresh (200 miles) install. I was riding with my brother today and he was following me on "my" scooter and all the lights look really great, bright white, then that very cool change to flashing yellow. I didn't check out the rear, the turn signal portion is there but have not installed the "running light" portion. It's all kind of a spendy up-grade but it's very cool and on a scoot, you just can't be too visible.

I have the front turn signal/running light kit installed on my 2010 GTS and sometimes I get the 30 second delay between signal and running lights. When I noticed the problem I wrote to ScooterWest and they told me there was nothing they could do about it.

Well, I just installed the Scooterwest LXTurnKit-IE kit, along with a H4 Super White headlight, a 12V194-LED pilot light, and two 12V521-LEDSW lights that are the amber, bright white switchback style lights...and I am having problems unfortunately

This morning I am now getting intermittent usefulness of the switchback bright white after turn signal engagement. On one startup this morning, the switchback lights failed to lite bright white. Upon start up yesterday, all front lights are on. Good. Turn left signal engaged, left light turns immediately yellow blinking. Turn off left signal, left light turns back to bright white. Same for right so it seems I'm good to go. So, I'm not sure why I am getting this intermittent issue now this morning!!

Then, I turn the bike off...wait a minute, start it up, and the switchback bright white lights are back on again.

Yesterday, and since installation, the H4 headlight bulb (the middle bulb) does not light up (goes dark) when clicking the low beam to high beam switch. On high beam, now with turn signal switched left, the left light turns blinking yellow. Turn signal cancelled, the left light goes dark, instead of returning to bright white. Do the same with right signal, right light turns blinking yellow. Turn signal cancelled, the right light goes dark, instead of returning to bright white.

I followed all install directions, I'm good with my hands, so I don't think this is "pilot error". It may be all of these issues are due to either a faulty H4 bulb (low beam works only, not high beam), my particular Vespa's electronics, these "interference" issues that folks have brought up, or these LED's and associated kits are not ready for prime time? Dunno.

I'm honestly ready to de-install the switchback lighting and re-install the ugly DOT front turn signal pods. These need to work 100% of the time, always..I just can't live with doubt of whether or not these will work in traffic situations.

My last word here...the folks at ScooterWest, particularly Max, have been top drawer in service, helpfulness. So, it's all peaches on that side of the transaction.

Or keep the scooterwest kit, dump the switch back LEDs and put in amber dual filament bulbs. That way you don't need the pod blinkers and it will still work

update from my earlier post today...

While running in my new LX today (mile 20 - 42 on the odometer), the front switchback LED lights seem now to be functioning The several times that I stopped and peeked over the handlebars they were functioning. So, I guess I'm in a wait and see mode...at least in the short run to determine if I my front end lighting is fully functional.

Still tho' my H4 headlamp is not functional on high beam..as previously. So, I think I'll replace that puppy to see if that corrects.

All good, I guess...

I'm considering doing this LED turn signal running light upgrade for my 2006 GT200. I would also go the splitter route with my existing knee pad power plug. Anyone have the cut out or delay issue with the GT200? Is there a headlight bulb I can buy for the GT200 that would match the color and intensity of the LED running light bulbs? I'm thinking their H4 super white. Thanks.
