Just an ole' VBB I found in a barn this weekend. Should I repaint it? Yea, that original paint is chipping in a couple places and the chrome you know, it's not totally perfect. Patina...lol, burn it.

Total Barn find, 4,400 miles, Vigano rear rack, some period windscreen came with it and a sweet legshield mirror. Original tool kit, bill of sale, all registration from 1963-1982, and owners manual. Trade for a bodge with shiny paint? Enjoy the photos.....this is a long term project I'm not planning on doing anything to (other than preservation steps) for awhile.

Wow

Some say it's a trend to leave as is/original. To me it is preserving the value and history. I would rather buy an all original scoot than one repainted or "refurbished". With the original everything done is documented by it's condition and presentation. Once painted, the only thing left is one's integrity to represent it properly, honestly and fairly.

Keep as is and only do what must be done. I'd drive it with pride.

I posted in jest mainly. I feel fortunate to have found a scoot in this condition 51 years after it was rolled off the assembly line. There is absolutely no way I'd do anything other than preserve it as is. I hope y'all get some enjoyment outta seeing it. 8)

It's your scooter - do what you want. If I was lucky enough to come across something like that - I would clean it up and ride it until the wheels fell off it. Good Luck

Ha, not $500 like my last two scoots, but a good bit less than what he was asking. When I first checked it out he stated he had been offered $2,000 that day. I told him I wouldn't pay that for a VBB. Next day he called me back. Guy backed out and he accepted my offer instead. I'm happy, but I'll be happier when I finish the engine! I still think total expenses will be quite a bit less than the value and I'd put that at over $3,000 in this condition if she's running.
