I am honored to be on this wonderful forum. Thanks or creating it. Thanks for having me.

When will the GT250 come to the US?
How much will it be compared to the GT200?
Are there more links as to where i can read about it?

thanks in advance

There's quite a bit of speculation about that. I think some of the dealer folks actually should have a hard date by now, but I don' think they've spilled yet.

My money is on December 1st.

I was just at our dea - err, boo-teek, last night. He's pretty straightforward with us, and he said he has no hard fact as to when they'll get them. I'm debating getting a 200 or waiting for the 250.

Several dealers do have a date now, and Scooterbobby has even posted it here on modernvespa.com.

Looks like the first wave hits next month!

how much more than the GT200?
do you think that the GT200 will be discounted now?
what are the other advantages of the 250 over the 200 besides the obvious displacement increase?

thanks again in advance

i think the msrp is 5799 so add what ever your local dealer charges for prep, tax, license and freight and there ya go.

however, seeing how limited the availibility will be initially i think that the dealers will mark them up for the initial run.

i don't think GT200's will be discounted.

see the other thread re: 250 advantages.

I posted this in another thread but...I think this answers the question so I'll paste it here as well.
================================
A 6 page e mail went to Vespa Dealers on Monday November 7 detailing the GTS launch, but I haven't been able to find it on this forum. If this already been posted, sorry for the repeat. If not, I have a copy of it if anyone wants one.

Here are a few highlights: Dealers will see the GTS at the convention in Denver November 18. Brochures will be mailed to dealers December 1. Media launch is at Long Beach IMS on December 9. Web page will go up the 9th, as well. MSRP=$5799, colors are red/black seat, gray/black seat and black/tan seat. Price list of accessories attached. Service training for mechanics begins in LA on December 12.

Allocation Program

This highly-anticipated model will be in short supply for the next two months. Based upon this we have developed an allocation plan for dealers.

Early Order period: 11-8-05 to 11-17-05

Receive 1 GTS allocation for every 6 Piaggio or Vespa units ordered on or before 11-17 and invoiced from 11-1 to 11-30. These "Early Order" units will begin shipping the 1st week of December. Additional vehicles will not become available until all initial (early order) allocation orders have been fulfilled.

Personal note:
As you can see, a dealer must order and get invoiced for 24 scooters in order to qualify to get 4 GTS models. Wait 'til spring 2006 if you're in no hurry. But if you want/need one ASAP, then hurry down and kiss up to your dealer. If they don't order one for you by 11-17, you're probably looking at March 2006.
