Go for it!
If you want a dual front disk, but not a verry expensive 13 inch front wheel. Or a big 16 inch Beverly wheel. You can also use a 14 inch Peugeot Satelis 500 front wheel. Piaggio delivered the Master engine to Peugeot, and they installed it on the Satelis. The rear wheel of the satelis is also 14 inch. |

Just a question.
why don't you use a Scomadi TL125, and convert that to a 500cc. Then you can get that registered as a heavy bike, because it already is a small bike. This way it is road legal. Here in the Netherlands that is the way to go. Don't know exact how it works in your country..... |
125
A tl 125 frame and a tl 50 frame are exactly the same, the difference between a tl 125 scooter and a tl 50 scooter is about £1,200. plus the 50cc scooter has twin shock mounts and the tl125 only has 1. most of the bigger engines use 2 shocks, not a mono shock, so for me a 50cc is a no brainer.

In holland you cant go from a 50cc to a 125 or more. From a 125cc to more is possible and legal. |
Road Legal
I have converted many 50cc into 300,s all have been registered with no problems what so ever, ive built a 400 burgman based scomadi , and several lambretta series 2 with gts engines also fitted. The last lambretta done was adapted for a guy who only has one arm, so hydraulic rear brake lhs throttle and switches etc.

resumed work.
Had to put the 500 on hold while i built a lambretta auto for some one, but back on it again now. been busy modding parts to work in this frame, ie the throttle body was catching the frame, and being made from hard rubber could not be altered, i found an alloy mp3 one which allowed me to cut shape and weld.

wiring harness
Quick update on progression. due to the current situation, the fromt wheel is still waiting to be machined , the rad is waiting to be made, these guy,s have closed shop until they can get back to work. I have also been struggling to get the correct wiring loom for the ecu and decoder, I managed to locate one in france, and that took a life time to turn up, arrived last week, so i have been altering it to fit the scomadi frame, ie location of relays coils fan etc, then removing helmet box switches and unnecessary wires incd electric stand wires, And making sure i do not cut any necessary circuits in the process.
I will post some more pics as soon as the loom is finished, and the fuel tank is back in. Hope every one is keeping safe. |
