Modern Vespa

Lostboater needed a ride.

So did I.

He was beginning a large ride to Richland GA, so I could join in for the first two days.

We met up in Chiefland, FL, with our friend Walt coming that far.

We got BBQ at BBQ Bill's (like that name), and took it to a local park to consume.

Great weather, cool and clear.

We ditched Walt and headed north to Wakulla.

After checking into the Lodge, we made out usual pilgrimage to the nearby St. Marks Lighthouse.

The sun was setting, allowing for a few fine photos of the area, especially the white lighthouse in the sun.

The next day, dodging rain, we took a short ride to the Gulf of Mexico again, this time to Live Oak Point and Shell Point.

Riding with Bill and Walt is always fun.

FINALLY, we made it back to Lynn's our favorite oyster house and they had built a new outside deck so we could eat there. The old got taken out by a hurricane. The oyster are from a new oyster farm down the road. They were great. Only thing is that we were told Lynn only comes to deliver paychecks. Says she has seen enough oyster as she has been doing this literally all her life. They will serve 2300 oysters in a day out of this little place.

Great report! Looks like it was a lot of fun, good people, good food, good weather!

I thought for a moment the pic of Ken pointing was that he was lost and saying we go this way!

Hopefully next year.......

I had been wanting oysters for a while.

Lynn's is ground zero for Oyster Tours, and these were very good.

Two dozen each.

Thawing in Frost Bite Falls

What a year for me to be a good husband and only bring the bicycles. We had a great time at Mayakka River State Park, then on to Topsail Hill, near South Walton. The weather turned ugly for our two days at Gulf Shores, so we just drove straight through and arrived home at the stroke of midnight. We were able to score some pretty good Mahi and shrimp at Joe Patti's on the way through Pensacola.

Dide, we are crushed you passed with out letting us know

Next time for sure, just wasn't in the cards this trip.

Don't be too hard on BBQ Bill's. It's an institution in Chiefland, and there's not a lot of competition.

Sadly, Warren won't get a chance for that "next time"

Prostate cancer caught up with him, and we all lost a great friend.
