Hello,

I just bought a 1964 Allstate Vespa. It has a taillight fitted which appears to be from a GS or something, shiny with two lenses.
Am I right that it should have a "brick-like" taillight with a square lense?
Where would you order or look for an original one?
Samle with steering lock, as keys are gone.
Regards,
leif

SIP should have both the tail light and new lock if you want new. And they are almost in your backyard (Germany) Used, I don't know, maybe sombody on here has them.

No, that one is for older bikes, you need an 'acorn' style like this https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/product/rear-light-siem_56040100

My 58 Allstate has the same GS160 (or is it 150?) light. Smaller than the later acorn ones. Dunno if it came that way when the original owner bought it but the paint seems to say thatís the only light itís ever had.

64 Allstate
Leif: I donít want to complicate things, but I have a 65 Allstate and as you can see my tail light is different than what some others are saying.
There are others that certainly know more than me about lights and so forth. Just showing you what mine has, and Iím pretty sure mine is original.

Leif,

This is the correct one. The Allstate never came with the acorn tail light. Late 1965 came with the "mickey-Mouse" tail light.

now that is cleared up, the one at SIP would appear correct from the outside, but rest assured, very economy. It will work for now, but you really want to track down a complete, original, SIEM unit.

taillight
Well hopefully that cleared up any confusion. Also your scooter, should have a three speed transmission.

taillight
Lief: the original taillights for the 64,65 allstates are not that hard to come by if your looking for an original. Good luck..scott
