Oil Filter Change - horror!!

So I have bought my oil and my new red chilli Malossi filter for my GTS250. Today was going to be a simple oil drain/replace filter job.
But oh no!! It seems like I am now going to have to completely remove my PM Tuning exhaust pipe in order to do this!!
Bummer!!!

Remove the old filter with pliers. You don't care if you scratch or bend the old one. Replace with a filter with a hex nut on the end, like a HF-197.

Hi - the picture doesn't really do the issue justice. The oil drain bolt is snug up against the tail pipe, so I can't remove either it or the oil screen tube properly. Grrr.

Do you mean if an aftermarket pipe is installed?

I almost always leave the (OEM) exhaust in place when I change oil on my LX. It's tight, but there's enough room.

They're all tight. I got sick of fighting the exhaust so they all come off now. Gives me more access for the gear oil change too.

O.S.- how could the exhaust piping cause harm to the engine oil/ engine? I'd seriously doubt any radiant heat from the piping could go through the air, into the oil filter and then break the oil down prematurely. How is the exhaust routed on your Liberty 150?

We Liberty owners do not have to remove the exhaust to change the oil or the filter.
