So he rescheduled a ride in North Carolina, centering around the Wilson trailer near West Jefferson, NC. The place is two miles from an entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway with many great roads within an easy ride.
With Hurricane Erma passing through, I delayed my start by a day and took Rocket in the bed of my truck. I usually prefer riding, but am getting old.
The first couple of days we followed Scott around the area. He has ridden there for years and knew of many great roads, mostly paved but some good gravel ones ran along the river.
We dined in the trailer mostly, but got coffee and breakfast in West Jefferson on two mornings. Tried the Mountain Aire one night and vowed to never go back. Beer was always available back at the trailer.
Ken had heard of Paint Bank, VA from friends so we decided to spend the night in the Depot Lodge there. We had a great ride up and back and enjoyed the fully restored tiny town. The lodge was great. We will probably try it again sometime.
Accommodations and rides were all great.
I am looking forward to visiting again.
Except for that tick bite.

Into the fog.

Beautiful places to ride.

Scooters parked for the night.

We drove over to Blowing Rock to hear our friend Shane play with his band.

At a stop on the Parkway.

Lansing NC. We got pizza at the restaurant and dined in the park across the street.

Ken leads us on some strange routes sometimes.

The Depot Lodge. Nice place.
