Modern Vespa

Hi all!

I know it's far away, Covid pushed the event a year to 2023, but want to inform those that may be interested that the Vespa World Days 2023 will be held in Canada, in the town of Brockville Ontario.

Details will be made available through your local VWC recognized clubs.

Keep an eye open on Facebook too

Hoping many will join us.

Happy there is interest in the event so early.

To participate, you must be a member of a VWC recognized club. VCOA is one, so is Vespa Club of Canada of course. Check out their websites and register.

Why are you losing coolant?

I don't loose it, I know exactly where it goes, past that shite thrust bearing seal they use in the GTS water pump and out onto the street. Its dribbled ever so slowly out the little drain for 35000km now.

I think the fact that they bothered to put a drain there is an admission of guilt, they new it was a poor design that would pee out coolant so they gave it a way to unload it.

I've spent half my life working in bearing system quality... i know a crap design when I see one.

It'll have a new engine by then

With my wife's current dislike of living in downtown TO I hope we aren't already living on Vancouver Island by then. That would be a bit of a Haul on a Vespa or any bike.

Now it looks like we're buying property on Vancouver Island and building a house. Good news is that will take a few years so I should be still in Ontario when this happens and am looking forward to it.

From Frost Bite Falls Minnesota it is 1145 miles - 17hours, 36 minutes.

Manageable taking two days. I might also consider trailering the Vespa and drive straight through coming and going.

Something to consider.

AmeriVespa is scheduled in my hometown in 2021 if the Pandemic cooperates.

about a 5 hr ride from here so it definitely on our list of rallys/events to attend!

Depending on many factors I'm not so sure we are going to see large gatherings for a while yet. Let's all hope the numbers go down by mid summer or so and stay there. Maybe then we can have some form of "normal" and a scooter rally sure seems like a good place to be normal.

I don't really envy the AV organizers...kind of like playing chicken with the virus. OTOH, for anyone who's been vaccinated, which, hopefully is many by June, it seems much much more sane than last year. But we'll have to wait a few months.

But, back to our regularly scheduled programming....we've got two more years for VWD....

I listened to a podcast where a participant mentioned the event in Brockville was on for 2022? What are the actual dates?

I've searched on Vespa World Days and found nothing indicating another years delay. Can it be confirmed that it's pushed out to 2024?

I'm a geezer, planning a year and a half out is one thing but two and a half, who knows?

It is confirmed for 2024. Info I got is it will take place in Kingston, not Brockville.

Not that I know of so far. Maybe Facebook's Vespa Club of Canada's page. We are a long ways to it so be patient.
