Hey OAD! We met last year at the ADV Beat the Heat ride ride last year. Just returned from this years event in Maggie, and I heard about this event from Cheryl and some others.

Would like to participate - Have any event/ride details?

most folks come in on thursday, Friday we ride leaving from the above hotel at 9 am weather depending of course. we ride to somewhere for lunch and sights along the way. might find a ice cream stop in the afternoon. get back around 3-4 . discuss potential dinner plans in the area. have dinner. back to the hotel gather around the fire pit in the back, socialize (BYOB) then do the same on Saturday. Sunday folks head to the house. some might meet for breakfast sunday morning somewhere.

All righty. Will have to check to see if we can tack a couple of days on the beginning or end. Riding and sightseeing are too good in the area for just a few.

I reserved my room today. Look forward to seeing you all and some great riding/weather.

Booked a room, planning on a week there if all goes well. Wife and I want to check out some more of the roads and take a few pics.

yeah feel real bad for those over at blue ridge campgrounds and the whole area. it will be a long while before they get things back in order again.

as far as our rides we will most likely avoid this area as they don't need any more lookers or folks impeding the clean up efforts.

I'm going to have to miss this one. Mother-in-law's 94th birthday party in PA takes precedence.

Happy 94th to her. My mother in law celebrated her 90th in July.

I am going to try to do next spring if I can get Jess's MP3 up and running reliably. I think chances are good. My current one runs fine but is leaking oil from an area that I don't think I want to spend time on so I will keep it for parts.

My primary bike has a fine running engine, but the last time I had it out this spring I had brake issues, so I parked it and haven't ridden it since...

Last October we moved. Can't take another bike right now but if you decide to part them out let me know.

Fuzzy put me into a short 6500 mile cardiac rehab trip to Newfoundland. Then he led me down a street with a slippery wooden bridge that tested the integrity of my chest sutures when I bounced bodily down the street. So all is well.

Okay, it's a bit of an exaggeration. It was a 6470 mile ride.

I'm in after all. Birthday party cancelled. There was still a room available so looking forward to seeing everyone.

I've been in MV since August 1st and will still be here when this starts. Perhaps I'll be able to show up!

Fall has come to Knoxville with the rain on Weds. Temps dropped 20 degrees and it is lovely riding weather now that the rain has gone. Looking forward to the ride over to Maggie Valley on Thursday.

it's been a scramble. A long tale of crazyness with too many scooters. Looks like the GTS and Morphous are going to be the scoots coming with us, if nothing else goes to shit.

48 when I got up this morning in Knoxville. Still in the mid 60s at nearly noon. Maggie Valley is usually 10 degrees or more cooler.

Weather looks good to me. Not too hot. Not too cold. Little chance of rain. Will be cooler at elevation after leaving Maggie Valley

I just bought a new Piaggio mp3 500. Mind if I stop by and pick your brains a bit?

We welcome all comers - and a new MP3 owner especially. Most of our group have owned MP3's but moved on to other rides. A couple still own, but mostly choose to ride other machines.

Best "brain picking" time is late afternoons and early evenings (oh so much earlier than when we were younger). Bring your own libations…

Anybody not riding an mp3 anymore, I could use a few tools if you wish to part with them. A variator and clutch holding tools would really be helpful.

(Hate to sound needy,but whenever I sold a bike, I always had some stuff left over, and it's not like there's an mp3 owner around every corner.)

Weather has been absolutely beautiful here in MV the past few days. Been busy with other things and have not had the scoots out yet. We plan on a few checking out a few roads after breakfast, and a quick repair on the the Yamaha.
