My Saturday Vespa ride to the village of Casertavecchia, Italy. The cathedral and bell tower in photo date to the 12th century. There were also the ruins of a castle and watchtower nearby.

That's fantastic.

We just don't have history like that over here. I could park next to the place where the old Hot-N-Now used to be. It sat empty for about 20 years before they finally tore it down. It was "really old". I remember it being there back in the late '80s.

Trip to the estate of Count Karl Osten-Sacken's(Ukraine, Kyiv region).
It was build in 1805.
Now it is practically destroyed and only several walls remain. It is very sad that the authorities left the historical heritage unattended.

No, that's actually my Vespa parked in front of the Royal Palace of Caserta. I had to push the bike there since the road is closed to traffic. The palace was built in the 18th century and is one of the largest in Europe. It's a remarkable work of architecture.

New scooter joined the family this week. I have inherited the 2005 GT200L and my beautiful wife got a 2021 GTS Super 300 Sport. Very similar color, but matte finish instead of glossy. She is quite pleased and so am I. Jiffy5 has been my daily driver for the last month and it is great fun. It has been 0C at 5:30 in the morning heading to work, which is pretty chilly, but the ride home is nice.


2 vespas, 1 Yamaha 650, and the carcass of a 65 GTO

* yeah, I changed the "S" black mirrors for chrome, and gun-metal'ed the black muffler guard. The model-specific Piaggio top case was custom color-matched by Vespa Motorsport. (they also supplied me with the famous "Light-Me-Up" Piaggio flyscreen
