The Vespa bug but hard. The BV is no more.

Picked up a slightly used 2016 GTV.

We are in the de-sticker and bonding process.

After all the SOFT PAINT WARNINGS, well you know what happened. Battery/Footwell sticker. Non skid tape to the rescue.

The almost 5 mile ride in the chill of the evening (50 F ) to get burgers: Decision #1. A new windscreen. Borat's swimsuit covered more area.

Stay tuned more episodes on the way.

Some future episodes:

"Chrome isn't for Pirates only "
"WTF a battery powered clock?"
"Muscle memories and side stands"
" You did what with a power drill?"
"Our first 100 miles"

Hey, It is 6 years old. It was placed in Service April 2015. So yes, less than 2.75 miles a year.

Back story. Gentlemen bought it rode it home. Two days later he was attending the Pearly Gates Scooter Rally. Widow kept it insured and tagged.

It had triskaidekaphobian mileage when I took it for a test ride. 13 miles. I bought, trailered it home. 15.8 miles starts my purchased, licensed and insured ownership.

Today:
19 days later.

triskaidekaphobia: old Greek for feer of 13.

You say the gentleman who bought the scooter "attended the Pearly Gates Scooter Rally".
And then you say "the widow kept it insured and tagged".

You mean this gentleman did not dare to ride the scooter anymore because of the 13 on the counter? And then when he passed away his widow kept it insured and tagged?

Pearly Gates: Entrance to Heaven. He died two days after buying the scooter over 6 years ago. 13 miles was his ride home from the dealership.

Well i a way I might think he went out with a smile. Who knows how long he had wanted a new two wheeler and he finally had it!

Have to feel bad for his widow, she must have known how much the GTV meant to him and she probably felt bad about the fact he never really had time to enjoy it.

I know where there is a 2013 GTV that has only 26,500 miles on it. That is my wife's ride and due to some medical issues of mine and this dang Covid that has shut down many things that GTV probably only went through a hand full of tanks of fuel in the last couple years.

I hope to see it get a few thousand this next year!

Tag was Reindeer.
New destination is a Town Square or Statue and Holiday decorations. See how the curb matches Argento's seat.

Well after a long talk with Argento. Some mumbling and choice words about "You don't see BMW' or Porches or Ducati's plastered with flags, That's for Triumph and Harley. A few more changes were made.

Ditched the Italian flag. "It's more about the journey, than the destination."

So what replaces the flag for an Italian like Argento?

What?…… your scooter does not talk to you?
St. Christopher…..
And I flipped the rack springs.

According to Vroom With a View/Vroom By the Sea author Peter Moore, those religious medallions are something of a thing in Italy with scooterists, somewhat akin to the whole "blessing of the motorcycles/scooters/bicycles" phenomenon here in the States. Agnostic fella that I am, I must say yours looks rather tasteful.

Also: what's the deal with that license-plate frame with integrated pulse-brake light? THat's the neatest implementation of a pulse-light I've seen to date.

And: Melody and me didn't actually talk…we just sort of understood one another. I think. (We'll see about Nica…)

The plate is black. No Frame. The aux light is mounted behind and uses the same mounting holes as the plate. It's a Pazoma Racing they make knock-off or such parts for everything. Most (90% and there are many)complaints are on the reliability of their hard parts, mirrors, racks, tail kits etc. Mine works no complaints.

Their return policy SUCKS. So double check your checked boxes. Only order what you need and know will fit.

It (brake light) was $29.95 vs $125-140 elsewhere. The address label from here in the states was pasted over a label from China. Your emailing China (customer service) through the website. I also ordered turn signals. These I wanted to return. 4 emails later I get the address. Damn what a long address. Went to the Post Office and it was going to cost $27.50 to mail them back. So spend $27.50 to get $29.95 refunded. Now that's a deal.
