A total of 5 scooters and riders turned up, me on my 150 Super, Bella, my wife Joss on her Primavera 70th Anniversary Mia, then Paul and Jeff on their PX200s and finally a new member Cameron on his modern Sprint. This was a first for us, all air cooled scooters. We chewed the fat for a while, no doubt in our minds solving the problems of the world.
We decided it was time to move so we headed north west towards an area called Rotokauri, then continuing further to a small settlement of Te Kowhai. That road continues north towards Ngaruawahia. We turned left off it and circled around behind Te Kowhai on good quality rural roads. We crossed the more busy road and carried on across country more or less headed back to Hamilton and eventually skirted the rear of Hamilton Zoo and back into the built up area. We avoided the major roads and made our way back to the Classics Museum where 4 of us (Jeff had to head home and take his kids out for an adventure this afternoon) ordered some lunch and a drink. We covered the gamut of food available from a bacon buttie, through an American Hot Dog, a big chicken burger with curly fries and a pancake stack with maple syrup and cream.
On our way home Joss and I decided a gelato made by a proper Italian was in order so we dropped in and again were not disappointed. A great day out on the scooters.
Before we left home.
