I saw these type of boats on a trip to the UK back in 1980 or so in Stratford-upon-Avon. Many of them there then.

But Lancaster is quite another region and I see you are from Glasgow. This kind of boats, is that a tradition, or popular all over the UK?

Peter, they tend to be popular where there are working canals or where real estate is very high. Scotland not so much so because we don't have as many canals any more and the ones we do have tend to link to the open sea. Also because Scotland has so much coastline and deep inlets puffers tended to be used as opposed to narrow boats.

Helped a friend receive his Moto Guzzi Griso SE that was shipped from Vancouver to Toronto for him.

In came in a crate. He came without tools. I didn't. We got 'er home. What a babe.

Saw similar canal boats tied up at Avoncliff, near Bath, on the River Avon. Looks like great fun!

I posted this fully thinking, "Even if no one else cares for this, Guzzi Girl will see it sooner or later. She'll get it." Rock on.

Oh, I surely do. The Griso is a damn sexy bike!

Got a new pup today! About two years ago we got a rescue dog that we totally fell in love with. Missy had a hard life before she came to us. I can still see the PTSD in her but it has subsided a bunch. Gentle by nature such a sweet dog.

When we signed up to take a rescue dog she was the first one that came available so we got a Belgian by coincidence and absolutely love the breed and her very much.

My wife said she needed a pup and we weren't looking hard but noticed one on craigslist today and the owners asked al the right questions of us, and had all the right answers to the questions we asked so we came home with Naranja today. It is a temp name given by the vet for the color of collar to tell the pups in the litter apart.

Got a couple good phone camera shots and wanted to share.

First one is Biscuit and I welcoming my last child. Next is rescue mutt Missy not long after we got her one of her first times off leash. Then Missy just a couple weeks ago. Same kid a few years later with Missy and Naranja. And lastly the new little one. 8 weeks old today.

Just had to update on the photo had the talk with the family about how he would come into his name by just observing his behavior/personality.

So far no accidents in the house when he starts sniffing and wandering we take him out to the dog spot in back yard and he gets it. After one potty trip this morning he sat down and the comment was "look at him sit there like such a little gentleman"

So that is how we came up with Gentleman Jack for a name, and the options for nicknames with Jack are plentiful which is good. Cheese which is slang for a hottie so Jack cheese when he is being good, Jack shit when he is in trouble, Pepper Jack, Jackson, Jackson Brown, Jackie boy, lots of options for nicknames so we are thinking Jack is it.

Thanks, Bob, and back at ya. We've had twice as many riders on a few occasions, but this is a good max size for most gatherings. Our membership consists of mostly 50+ folk, also. Luckily, we have a good contingent of younger members to keep things fresh and fun.

I'm heading down to Pembrokeshire in the moho at the weekend for two weeks
only second time in wales, we were at north wales at the new year and decided to come back for more.

If you get near our way give a shout if you can and maybe meet up for a coffee.

we are starting off at Hay on Wye then going to the Brecon Beacons before plodding down to the south coast when we get there we will turn right head to the Gower after that follow the coast. It will take us about two weeks, no real plan. If I have signal I will PM you next week if it looks like we will be close.

I hear signal can be an issue in some of the places we are planning to go to.

Is'nt St. Helena where Napoleon was imprisoned for a while ?

Yes Johntee. When he was defeated at the battle of Waterloo in 1815 by the Duke of Wellington, he was sent by the British to the remote South Atlantic island of St. Helena so that the French would not attempt to rescue him. Napoleon eventually died there in 1821. You can still visit his home and place of burial, however the French were eventually granted permission to remove his remains for a state burial in Paris.
