Modern Vespa

I had a stroke 18 months ago. It was a massive stroke and I had to relearn how to walk, shower, brush my teeth, read, etc. one of the long term goals I set was to ride my Vespa again. Today I rode for an hour, it was too cold for me to ride longer. But I RODE.

I will need a side kickstand because right now getting it on the center stand is too difficult. And I'm going to downsize to a 150 for that reason.

Absolutely wonderful! And wow! Great progress and a lot of very hard work, been through 2 accidents that had me wondering if I would ever walk or be able to return to work, a stroke is even more challenging than the right leg injuries, yes, 2x, car accident and then a slow easy fall with a borrowed scooter that twisted that same leg.
I think you are amazing and an hour was a long ride, your body knew that.
The rides will get longer, the lighter bike will be a great choice, that's the size this old woman is comfortable with.

AWESOME! What a great achievement for you. An hour riding is certainly up there for a first ride back, you have my admiration. Amazing what a positive attitude can do. Keep it up.

Both the 150s look nice. I do hear red is faster!

What a great decision you have to make! - Is the blue a matt paint finish?, they can be a little harder to look after. It's just a thought. Best of luck whichever one you choose.

Yes, it's matte. It is in stock the red would need to be ordered with a 45 day estimated delivery.

Does anyone know what year they stopped making the LXV and if there are any new old stock ones left?

Love the red, but the blue is nice.
2016 was the last year the LXV150IE was sold here in the USA. And I have 1, and she's heavier than my new touring Primavera 150, she's also a bit wider and has more foot room, the floorboards are actually about 5/8" wider, at the widest spot on each side, makes a difference I can notice in work boots and brace on right lower leg/foot.

My cousin, at 49, suffered a massive blood clot in the carotid artery that came loose and caused an equally massive stroke. Three years later she's still struggling to communicate and use the right side of her body.

Congratulations!!! I know what it means mentally to be able to ride your Vespa. When I had my interview for PT recently the therapist asked "what is it you would like to do most that you cannot right now?" I replied "ride my Vespa." Fortunately he is Dutch and knows what a Vespa is. So that was set as the first goal. Glad so say we accomplished it and more.

So I decided to go with a white primavera that is in transit. Trying to force myself to wait for the scooter before buying accessories is going to be hard.

I have a new Primavera and my first accessory was a metal gas cap, those plastic ones are hard for my old hands, the 1 on my Liberty was almost impossible for me to remove. And the next accessory is a Classic Racks cup holder that will Mount on that center floorboard. Long rides mean I need hydration and if I need to balance weight when loading gear on that for overnight stays, I want to have the option to secure stuff on that floorboard as that front rack will obscure that headlight, learned that with my LXV150IE
