Modern Vespa

There's a lot of dead zone in throttle, have to turn it 1/4 turn before anything happens.

Is it obvious how to adjust? Am hoping at engine without taking too much off there's a clamp I can loosen and slide cable.

In manual it's a regular service item so assume it's easy but can't find where it says what to adjust.

Haven't tinkered yet, left bike at friend's after drinking a load of wine and got a lift home and he lives in the arse end of nowhere so it's going to take an hour to get there.

Thanks. I had found adjusters on handlebars and used all travel there but wouldn't have found the others by Airbox.

Don't know if I wasn't getting full throttle before but I did Airbox mod at the same time (using a bit of OEM piaggio cardboard from box my transmission cover came in wrapped in gaffer tape!) and it's a different bike, much more responsive. I have 17g dr pulley weights and it really pulls now.

Wowsers! OEM Piaggio cardboard. That's gotta give you at least 5 extra ponies, eh?

Indeed, it does feel much less restricted as it gets above 5000 rpm. I did try using a bit of plastic but after cracking two trying to cutout curves and then seeing a nice piaggio marked bit of card I thought it was clearly a sign I should use it.
If you see the restriction in the original tube it's not surprising it robs power and curious why they did that, it's not a moped or A2 licence restricted.
As someone said the airbox modification must be the best value mod there is, a few minutes with a bit of cardboard and gaffer tape is all it needs and really opens up the top end.
I think you get a double benefit with the lighter weights as the reduced air restriction means more torque at higher revs which means the variator lets it rev more and it keeps high revs low gear longer, so more torque/power anyway from engine and even more torque at rear wheel due to lower gearing.
I might splash out on a bit of ABS and use the card as a template but the card with gaffer tape coating fits well!
