Modern Vespa

So I lost my last MP3 500 to a small accident slipping on black ice, and have been with out a MP3 for the last 3 years and have been waiting on the sideline to see if there're anything new. Of course as soon as I decided that I was gonna pull the trigger on a 2021 bike, Piaggio went and announce a brand new model. Since I really don't want to skip out this riding season I figure I stick with the decision on buying now.

Just want to come back and say hi to my fellow MP3 riders, I am one of the original whom bought a 500 when it was released back in 09 and have gone through thick and thin over the year and went through just about every problems the model has (notch what?!) So are there anything I should know about the new model since I had always ridden the original Fuoco?

Also someone suggested that I buy the extended 4 year warranty, however other than the notch the biggest cost had been the regular services and tire replacement. I am a zero when it comes to turning a wrench and since I live in a small apartment in NYC, wouldn't even have the space to work on the bike and so have to rely on the shop which does get expensive. Anyhow, is it worth it to get the extended warranty?

Definitely get the extended 4 year warranty if you are not going to be turning your own wrenches.

warranty has nothing to do with maintenance here in the USA. any shop or person can do the maintenance and document it. if a warranty item comes up the dealer takes care of the warranty item and work, they can not refuse based on others doing the maintenance at the prescribe intervals on the documents.

This was my thought as well, the only problem I had encountered with prior MP3s that could have been covered by the warranty was the notch, other than that, everything else was wear and tear and services that would have been paid out of pocket anyhow.

I do have a local shop (brooklyn Vespa) I used for all the work, and they did a good job both with the work and documenting.
