Unrelated note: As much as 40% of the population of my State Of Minnesota
are immigrant descendants from Norway and Sweden. They
must have got here - wrote home - this place is full of snow
and cold - get over here! We have a local Swedish Institute
and the royal family of Norway visit every year.

Even our accent of American English has scandinavian overtones
It is called speaking Fargo.

Village Pizza (Now defunct)

A couple of days touring around mid and north Wales on the hottest days of the year (in fact today was the hottest day ever recorded in Wales at 98.7°) Took these pics at a rest stop in the Snowdonia National Park. Snowdon in the background being the highest peak in Wales. There's a fine and varied collection of the airborne fauna of Wales to be dealt with tomorrow with a bucket and sponge.

Interesting sights taking old roads.......

Wanted to share a few new items on my GTS.

1. GTS Super 300 badges on top case.
2. Vespa club stickers on both sides of top case.
3. Removed both warning stickers by glove box.
4. Added chrome valve stem caps to wheels.

From the West coast to the East coast Monday and back again and this is my first one I will have owned.

There is a very good scooter riding group in Wisconsin with
their annual 4 day ride scheduled in September. It is
called Wisconscoot 2022.

My Minnesota group scooter riding group, "Minn-Max Scooters
of Minnesota", is loop riding out of Hillsboro WI this next
Thursday through Saturday.

Thank you Bob, I will enjoy having this after spending many years on 125 and 150's. May even venture on the M4 to get out of Wales on it. Mind you motorway driving gets pretty boring compared to the views of the mountain roads.
Probably feel massive after the ET4's and there 10" wheels 😊

Thanks Bob, good info to know. Hoping to get to these group rides at some point when my calendar is not so full.

Some recent additions to my SuperTech that I'm really enjoying:


OEM front rack

Vespa 946 gas cap

Old-school Piaggio logo valve stem caps

Sight-glass oil pan (the garage floor is uneven which is why it looks like there's too much oil)

Replaced license plate reflectors with stainless steel bolts to match the chrome and body color

Got it home after a 19 hr 670 odd mile drive. Took out for a spin into Lampeter. I love the extra surge of power after a 125cc for overtaking safely and the powerful brakes you don't have to send a telegram to so they start working.
Few niggles to deal with like starter/Bendix whatever it is but at £850 I have no complaints plus got given a full Mallossi transmission kit comes with clutch as well with it.
Pic outside mate's new venue opening in Lampeter soon. It may well become the meeting point for Clwb Scwter Ceredigion ( Ceredigion Scooter Club ) which is just forming on Farcebook.

I just joined the scooter community with my new to me GTS 300. Here is a photo from my first short ride yesterday.

End of the line

I bought this 2010 GTS last month. I spent the last couple of weeks completing the preventive maintenance and sorting it out.

Since the above post in June I have been getting ready for a road trip from Florida to Pennsylvania and back. It should be about 2200 miles round trip. I did it in a car a couple months ago. 22 hours without stopping except for gas. I want to try it on the Vespa. I have been getting spare parts, tools, oil, belt, and anything else that I can think I may need. Looking at some kind of spare gas can now. Any ideas, let me know.

There are lots of threads on here about suggestions on what tools to take on long trips.

Regarding spare fuel, you have all the racks which is good. The most obvious choice is to get a 5L plastic fuel can and strap it to your floor rack using straps or bungee cords.

Alternatively, a popular choice is to use a MSR bottle. These are fuel approved and can be put under either the front or rear rack by using 2 large hose clamps.
