... ugh now the seat lock broke. I know those locks are not safe at all and maybe it's better to leave it open so nobody breaks anything with a screwdriver, but still annoying to see it got detached and is now sunk in somewhere under where it should be...can't figure out how to get to it.

Same thing happened to my 2015 several times. The only lasting cure was a dab of blue LocTite on each screw. That stopped the issue.

Just found one... now. it's a matter of finding a twin somewhere (seems an odd. one) and also figuring out how to get to the stuff.

Probably Just snag the lock mechanism with some sort of hook and pull it back up in to place so you can get the screw in. And come up with a suitable replacement screw.

Most likely the screw(s) fell into the helmet bucket area.

At least that's where mine ended up twice before I applied a drop of blue LocTite on each screw.
