I am looking at a 2020 Vespa GTS.

I asked owner if it was in accident.

Response: Has it ever been in an accident?
Forks bent by someone who backed over it. But it's modular and everything was replaced in a $6,000 repair. The bike is newer than when I bought it.

Is that something that should make me not buy it?

Modular in the case that there is no tubular frame - several metal preformed pieces welded together, much like uni-body for cars. It does not take much to whack it out of alignment and then you have a scoot that eats tires and takes left( or right ) turns too easily.

No way it's better than new.
It could have been a new frame as well as forks etc. I'd ask to see the list of things done in the 'repair'. I'd probably still walk away though - there are unmolested ones out there!
