Modern Vespa

Hello friends, does anyone know this helmet? how is she? And does it have pockets for speakers? The name of the helmet is vespa modernist helmet. Thanks in advance.

I advise against the original Vespa helmets!

Price / performance does not fit, the quality is bad, the visor does not go up to the chin, the sun visor (if available) can not be operated with the visor closed & is often so tight that this can not be used with glasses, the padding can not be removed at all or only partially for washing (depends on model), the fit is often uncomfortable for many.

Look rather for another manufacturer and check before buying whether the helmet fits under the seat in the size you need.

Tips for buying a motorcycle helmet:

As with clothing, the size specifications and fits of the manufacturers, sometimes even between different series of the same manufacturer, turn out differently. So the only thing that helps is to try and test!

With the following methods you can determine which helmet really fits:

Select your desired model according to the following criteria, descending in importance: first and foremost, safety, fit, comfort, functionality, design and lastly price.

Some models do not have a visor that completely covers the field of vision. In my opinion, helmets of this type are not suitable for use on scooters over 50cc. At higher speeds, it is useful to be able to cover the face for protection against insects, etc…

If the index and middle fingers can be slid between the donned helmet and head, it is too large. Try on the same helmet one size smaller.

Put the helmet on, even with the chin strap open, the helmet should not slide back and forth on your head when moving.

Close the chin strap and have another person hold the helmet in place. Turn the head to the left and right, the skin of the forehead must rotate with it without the motorcycle helmet slipping.

The inner padding will give a little bit over time. If the helmet is a little too big from the beginning, the more they will notice this effect.
The inner padding must therefore fit your head well, but should not press or even leave marks.

If you need glases make sure that the glasses can be put on securely. Under no circumstances should the glasses press against your temples. Also check whether an integrated sun visor can be closed over your glasses without the glasses rubbing against the inside.

If an intercom system is to be installed for communication with your passenger or other riders, or for hands-free talking on your cell phone, make sure it is compatible.

I recommend wearing a helmet for a while when trying it on to check that it fits comfortably.

Sounds like the quality is on par with the "Vespa"-branded top case that came with my 2010... which is pretty disappointing.

Great info 🙏, I thought that helmet and particularly the strap latching mechanism looks a lot like the sub $100 helmets on Amazon.

I've been getting some really decent full face helmets with dark and clear visors for well under $100USD on Amazon, DOT approved, lightweight and I can buy, try and return no questions asked,
only compliant, the latching for straps are like the ones on that Vespa branded helmet, don't have simple D rings which make for easier locking of helmets to under seat tabs and helmet locks on motorcycles

I'm also surprised the official Vespa helmet doesn't use D-rings to strap on.

There are two fangs on the bucket under the seat. They're designed so you can hook the D-ring of a helmet on and close the seat, which allows you to leave the helmet secured to your moto.

If you don't have a D-ring, you probably can't secure the helmet in that way. Since it's not a full-face helmet, it might fit under the seat (presuming your bucket is empty).

As others have noted, you want a full-face for A.T.G.A.T.T. reasons, but even if you're willing to compromise there, this particular helmet also looks inconvenient to store.

the key to a good helmet is quality and fit, nothing new. Brand is less important, ratings and fit the most important. Just my opinion

This complicated piece of machinery for Nolan Helmets eliminates the problem.
You slide it into the strap buckle and lock away!

I bought this Vespa Modernist helmet, exactly the one on the photo. Have used it for 6 months, still very happy with it. I installed the Vespa/Piaggio Bluetooth speakers mic set some weeks ago, working well with rge Mia app and the integration on my Sprint 150 S with LCD screen.
I find the helmet to be good, very comfortable, visor working well and stay clean without fogging, visor covering complete sight so no problem there, I use sunglasses underneath with no issues at all. Warm pads on ears, all work well. Had to cut off just some fabric material to be able to stick the loudspeakers on them, but worked well since the sewing was done two places.
I highly ecommend this helmet. And it fits without any problem underneath my seat. Strap lock mecanism works smoothly and is high quality.
