Hi All
I am going to fully convert my 2003 px125 electric start to dc, as Im adding a sidecar and want to add some accessories in the future and ensure bright lights at all times.
I have a good read through the forum and think I've worked out what to do but just wanted to double check I've got it right.
I need to float the stator, and install a full wave rectifier/regulator.
I believe I also need to change the horn and the flasher can? but not so sure about the brake light switches.
I dont believe any of the wiring needs to be changed ( other than the wiring from the stator to the rectifier) but again not 100% sure.
Can any of you electrical wizards help.
Thanking you all in advance.

Whodat, you disconnected the starter interlock, is that neccessary if I'm keeping the starter motor? if so can I ask why?

Yes, I disconnected my starter interlock. I can't remember if it was necessary or not. The only reason I could think that it would be necessary to disconnect the interlock when converting over to DC power, is that somewhere with the interlock 12VAC was part of the equation (or was that problem). But I can't remember if that was the case or not. What I do remember was that it took me a full 2 weeks to figure how to make all of my PX's systems (Starter interlock, fuel gauge, turn signals, horn) work with 12VDC. I have a working E starter on my DC powered PX and no interlock. I've also removed starter interlocks on 4 different KTM motorcycle that I have. I haven't died yet by not having a starter interlock on any of my 2 wheeled companions.

All done, took me about 2 hours start to finish and there was no need to disconnect the starter interlock.
Thanks again whodat for your thread, made the whole process very easy.
