I was out n about on my new GTS hpe the other day - the night time arrived and I started to get flashed by passing cars. I think the headlight beam is too high as, on dipped beam, the road signs in the distance were lit.

Does anyone have any pics of the adjuster screw? It's not obvious.
This is my new steed

There should be a screw below the headlight

It's the new LED light.

There isn't the screw as pictured in the manual on the new headset.

There is a cut out south west of the light. Inside (when a torch is shined in) there doesn't appear to be a screw adjuster.

I'm afraid I can't see an adjustment screw.

There is a hole in the headset. Up inside there is no screw.

I'm at a loss!

Anyone with a hpe led light can you help?

Have you checked your headlight against a wall? Always best to check first before changing any settings. Maybe no adjustment is necessary.

Did you ever locate the adjustment screw? I was just trying tonight and could not find it with the screwdriver and flashlight.

You have to take apart the handlebar cover with headlight attached and adjust the screw from the back of the headlight. And it does not say which way to turn the screws, it was pretty much trial and error and painful because every time you have to make small adjustments and reinstall the whole thing back together. I am extremely disappointed with vespa, I feel like they rushed to get the scoot off the assembly line. My cheapo bicycle lights are more bright at night.

Agreed. I'm totally unimpressed with LED headlamps. While the beam cutoff is usually excellent the lamps seem to have no reach. My old quartz lamps seemed to reach much farther ahead with more intensity.

I recently retired after ten years working in the engineering of automotive lighting systems, mostly on LED units. They have a long way to go before I'd want them on my vehicle, but everybody seems to want to rush them to market.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO DISASSEMBLE

use a philips screwdriver and poke the tip into the side of that round metal thing via the hole in the side of the cover and turn. IMPORTANT: You have to turn your handlebars all the way to the left else you can't get the tip of the screwdriver in the right place.

It works like a rack and pinion gear thingy.

here's a pic of my Supertech showing what's happening

That pic is good do you happen to have one from the other angle, with the assembly flipped over. I have tried and tried and can't find the adjustment point with a Phillips.

Tried to adjust the headlight on my 22 HPE through that hole on the LHS but bugger all happened. So took it apart and turned the main screw 2 full turns clockwise to lower the beam to the Goldilocks level. (after trial and error).

the idea is not to remove the cover but instead to stick the screw driver in through the hole (see arrow) and through the slot (circle) and into the side of the round bit. see my photo earlier in the thread.

regardless did you get a good result?

Did all that, didn't work. Put the screwdriver in through that hole a million times, turned and turned. Nothing changed. Could have unscrewed all the nuts off the Sydney Harbour Bridge by now. So only choice was to go nuclear. All good now.

Same issue, screwdriver (#2 philips) through the hole and nothing changed.
Disassembled to see why. Was due to too much clearance in between the teeth of the adjuster and the plastic body behind it therefore not meshing correctly. Tried with an insulated screwdriver and that worked well. (due to the larger diameter shaft raising the screwdriver tip towards the adjuster teeth.)
6 turns of the screwdriver = 1 turn of the adjuster screw.
Anti-clockwise on the screwdriver to lower the beam.
