Anyone see this yet? Thoughts?
Keeps the engine and transmission so you still shift. That's pretty awesome.

Looks cool!

First time I've been interested in an electric Vespa.

But saw it was from Pinasco… so minus 100points.

I'm pretty sure they'll find a way for cracked pistons, cranks, etc. even being electric…

Shame.

The brand seemed pretty strong in the 80's. Not many companies coming out with parts like them.

Recent rep will be tough on them.

Exactly. They were OK in the 80s and unfortunately lots of their kits got stuck there too (not to mention overpriced compared to Malossi and Quattrini). Since Andrea sold the company, quality went down, even if they seem to do some revolutionary stuff. Marketing seems to be more important to them…

Not much longevity with that approach…

Scooter owners get wise pretty quickly.

How does that work? Electric motor inside the casings? Also, it sounds terrible. I'm still interested in an electric motor for my Super if a kit pops up that's affordable with good range.

It's the future slowly creeping up on us. Eventually anyone still using fossil fuel in transportation will become the enemy.

That's probably about what our scooters drive train sounds like without the two-stoke staccato covering up the noise. Maybe they'll engineer a playing card and laundry pin to put in the flywheel fins.

no worries, they'll just sell a set of speakers so you can have a sound track like how they pipe in the engine sound on the new cars.

fortunately we're all set:

I like the geared approach - at least in concept.
Always thought it would provide more top end - though know most electric vehicles don't use any sort of transmission.
What does Tesla know anyway?

Our gear trains are really that loud.
Kinda silly they kept the fins on the fly wheel - that is just lost power.
Maybe that will be changed on the production model.
Suspect they have a pulley behind the flywheel and the motor mounted where the cylinder head would have gone - also with a pulley - belt connecting the two.

Well, I've seen enough videos of them either catching fire or running amuck not being able to stop to wonder about this question. The owner is also more than enough of a jackass to dissuade me from ever buying one of their cars.
