I realized (after paint, of course, would be too easy...) that the bracket holding the opening lever is not centered with the cutout... I guess I have to trim that...





Here is the question... I did fit a new vespa lock, I can only remove the key on lock position, if it is unlocked, the key stays in, so is the lock supposed to let the key being removed on both positions ? If not then what's the point of the lever as the locking mechanism hold the door shut meaning you cannot open the door without the key in ?

Original locks would let the key out at any position. Repro locks don't, you need to lock it first...

That's what I tought, otherwise what's the point of the lever !

Maybe I got a shit repro, I'm going to check what is available in better quality, and maybe buy a new door, it won't look nice with a wider opening...

I didn't like the "non-removable key" feature of the lock on my new 150 VBB either...so I harvested a same-style lock off one of my old tool boxes. Problem solved. These kinds of locks (with spring clip retainer) are super common. Mine has a slightly taller bezel, which is fine by me...and it was FREE, so...

Bezel is about 3-4mm tall vs 1-2mm... but it works great and looks "period correct"-ish.
