Modern Vespa

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law live in the Olentangy Village complex and had their rehearsal dinner out on a patio where the amusement park arches stood. He has quite a bit of memorabilia about the park and is really into the history. Great spot and excellent tag.
Not sure about everyone else but I hope this is the last blast of winter.

On the way home from work today, I saw a guy - looked like he was in his 50's riding what appeared to be a Puch. Yep - this was probably 4pm in the middle of the first part of the snow storm. He was ridding outrigger style and keeping up with traffic. I am not even that brave/stupid. While inclement weather wont stop me from ridding - today was pretty ridiculous. I wasn't excited to be driving in it with four wheels.

My wife and I were supposed to fly to San Diego today for a conference and a few days off. Got a call at 6AM that flight is cancelled. On the phone noow (6:20) trying to rebook, but man I was hoping to get out there and rent a scooter for a couple of days.

I've been scooping snow for the last hour, even though it's still snowing like crazy. I measured the flattest part of my backyard, 16 inches and growing.

I haven't tried to shovel this morning, but when I opened the back door to let Kelev out, there was about a foot of snow up against the door. The pooch was up to his shoulders. Any luck?

I leave the snow, the leaves, watering the lawn, mowing the grass, doing the dishes, and dusting to God, who's pretty good half the time.

My goldens are lovin the snow.

Same problem here, we have had our Lab out several times but the snow is so deep she can't squat to do her business. I wonder if the Wisconsin and Minnesota dogs have to just hold it in until Spring?

I think Kelev likes the snow well enough, but he had trouble finding a place to do his thing too. He finally went in the little trench he made running back and forth looking for a place. He probably could hold it til spring...he's kind of amazing like that. He looked like he was considering it.

Mostly we shovel because Owen likes to (not that I mind doing it) and because we live on a corner where there's lots of foot traffic normally. Not today, of course.

As soon as it stops blowing, we're going sledding!

Hey All - sorry to post this here but I figure this thread is getting the most looksee's these days...

I am helping put together Earth Day in Columbus and wanted to offer Modern Vespa/ Easy Peasy Scooter Club / individuals the chance to have a booth. Booths are available for the not-so-low price of $50 each. This is the non-company price, which means it's OK to show off your scooter and sell T-shirts and buttons and things like that. But it's not OK to show up and be selling scooters. (Then you need to pay more for the "corporate" booth, I think it's $100. The scooter shops around town have already been contacted about getting a booth.)

The event is Saturday April 26th, from noon to 7 PM at Goodale Park. While many people think scooters are automatically terrible for the environment, newer ones (especially 4 strokes) are not as bad as older models. There is also the decreased need for parking space and gas consumption with scooters, when compared to cars.

I am also going to be posting this today on the Cutter board, there is no issue if Cutters and non-Cutters agree to share a booth, as long as someone registers. (In other words, any splits on the booth fee are amongst yourselves.)

What does everybody thinks about the Earthday event?

Regarding the Earth Day event; I think it's a worthwhile event. I don't think I'll be taught anything I don't already know. I'll attend and support the vendors that represent.

As for a clue? I'm impressed that my tag wasn't discovered in the first 24 hours of posting.

Earth Day booth update-
registration at the cheap prices has been extended until Monday March 31st.

I to would attend the earth day event, sounds like a great place for the scooter groups. Let us know about the booth fees I can send a check out to you.

That was a good follow-up on the Blue Dube theme. On a Sunday, it's the best place to get a Bloody Mary in town. (not one minute before noon, though)

It was way to cold to do any background research on the mural. It was located at the start of Summit St. (a.k.a. 3rd. St.). To get there take hudson and turn south on third and look immediately to your left. Its right there. Good to hear from you TwoJacks.

I had another mural ready to go but I thought I'd give it a little break. I came very close to posting it. Any scooter trash need a clue on this one?

If you look across the street from the Rumba Cafe you can see it. I don't know how it got there but it's nice example of folk art.

Sure is a nice day out there if I had a clue I might just go out for a ride.

I rode to work the last two days. I'd be up for a hint as well!

Okay, you may have guessed that it's a service station. I drove Caitlin to jury duty every day for the last two weeks and I drove by it every day. For those of you getting out your map and a piece of string, we live on Arcadia and Summit, 43202.

You have to check out my new seat its lowered I can reach the ground a lot better and it makes the center gravity a lot better the bike actually handles better. Big diffrence.
Euro bike night should start next month but I will keep a eye out for you while out riding PM me if your headed out some Sat or Sun we will hook up

Twojacks, I'd love to see your new seat. Do you still have your hibiscus cover? I'll definitely give you a buzz for a weekend ride.

In the meantime, I went out for some TAG. I'm not as embarrassed as I thought I'd be...the Fawcett center takes that one for me. This former service station is on High Street between 5th and King, mere yards from where I was last night.
