I'm pretty sure a P200 engine CAN be converted but the question is WHY? I recently put a LML 150, converted to 8", in a VNB. The thing is geared so low now, I can start out in 2nd gear with little trouble. If you do this with a P200, you're going to be doing wheelies with it.

You could probably get a used VBB engine that's already set up and geared for 8" wheels. It can be kitted with very little modification. I think this would be an all-around better option.

IIRC, there's a version of the LML engine that's 8-inch and geared for it. I forget where I saw that, though.

Get a p type engine stock 10inch and just get the 8inch rim conversion

Its a rim that holds an 8inch tire but fits on a normal P hub so you can keep your 8 inch tires

Yeah man, that was the original suggestion. The problem with that is that the gearing is still set for 10 inch. This means an effective upgear with loss of top end speed. Since the OP wants to go for a 200, the power band would be way off. It's even pretty far off on the 150.

Well then the best thing would be to just get a 10inch to 8inch hub and go with 10inch tires

Either way the power of the engine & gearing will not be noticed unless your a machine driving it like the Terminator, (I'll Be Back)

I did two swaps just like this one with big 10inch from 8inch but I did re machine the front fork to fit a 10inch hub on an allstate

The best way to do a P200 to 8" is to swap out the gearbox in it with one out of a Vespa Super. ( VBC )

That way you're geared in such a way that it won't be a wheelie machine.
