I'm not offering anything that hasn't already been said here, but my thoughts on it are: amazing idea, I bet it's a hoot to ride, the price isn't unreasonable for what it is, but I can't stand the way it looks. It looks like you could fold it a little here and there to transform into Megatron.

I'm with you mig - its freakin ugly as heck! It looks like an alien from the front, and a caterpillar from the side. Just odd looking in my opinion. I think i'd rather buy a car then buy an MP3.

Also, I'm not sure of how the suspension works, but it looks like alot could go wrong with the way they flex on turns and lock while standing, etc.

Ms GTS,

Having 2 front wheels instead of just one most definitely has a tremendous amount of functional advantage. The easiest one to see is the extra stability afforded as a result of having 3 wheels instead of 2. Secondly, Piaggio has claimed that with the additional front wheel comes additional traction, which directly translates in superior grip and braking power -- IIRC, the MP3 has something like a 20% improvement in braking distance over the braking scooters, and 20% is a LOT. I would also imagine that from the greater stability and grip, the MP3 would have superior handling characteristics over similarly sized scooters (think X8, SilverWing, Majesty, etc. here).

Wow, thanks for the info Traum. I certainly like the sound of it!

It looks like a fun machine. I haven't sat on one in person, nor even seen on in real life yet. I like the concept and can appreciate the forward-thinking and bold design. My first instinct, however, is that this 'bike' is aimed more immediately at the 35 - 50+ crowd. Perhaps it's just a matter of time (like everything else), but as it stands, it just does not have that 'cool' factor that two wheels and 'small' does.

Where I can see this ride really fitting in is in an advanced metropolis area where a significant amount of the population is driving Smart/Zap-type cars. Maybe that's a decade or so away? In the mean time, I can see how it might find its way into the suburbs and even the countrysides quicker than in larger cities. One reason is lane splitting; I'm not sure you'd be able to anymore and half the advantage of having a scooter in a congested city is the agility and ability to maneuver swiftly through traffic. But again, since I haven't seen one in person, I could be wrong here. Just my first thoughts shared aloud. I'd be willing to test one out here in San Francisco and letcha know what I think

It doesn't really seem any wider than a traditional large scooter...I believe the handgrips are the same width or really close to the GTS and they are the widest part of the bike...no?
